Is it the same reason they fired coach O and hired Brian Kelly?

LSU sports generated $3.8M in sports revenue surplus in FY25 and $1.8M in FY24. By comparison, Alabama sports generated $32.7M in sports revenue surplus in FY25 but -$27.9M in FY24. Thus LSU is more profitable in sports revenue than Alabama over last 2 years $5.6M vs $4.8M
No wonder Louisiana is in such horrible shape financially. Below are LSU’s own financials which show you are wrong.
LSU’s athletic department generated a whooping $28,000 profit for the last fiscal year 2025. Football and men’s basketball were the only profitable programs within the athletic department. Look at the bottom right number to see what LSU’s profit was - $28k. LSU athletics made less last year than a garbage man makes.
More troubling is that LSU listed $65 million in liabilities but only $30 million in assets, putting them $35 million in the hole.

Just providing context. I personally do not care as it has no affect in my interest in any sport. Anyone who concerns themselves with this as a way to say what sports matter is small minded. Anyone is allowed to follow whatever sports they please. I just like to point out short minded points because this board has many to go around and it’s fun lol.

Thank you for proving the OP wrong for me, even by your numbers LSU is a revenue sports school.
LSU is one of the most prominent and successful sports universities on the planet valued at over $1B. We will continue to generate great value and revenue for generations to come in Louisiana. We will be building a new basketball arena soon and renovating our baseball stadium, projects costing hundreds of millions of dollars.

Do you understand the difference between revenue and profit? From your posts it appears you do not.

Sports revenue and profit is determined by the NCAA Financial Reports that each school publishes each year that I have referenced.
Alabama uses the same as do all NCAA institutions.

If you really dig, you’ll realize that athletic admin revenue is being pumped in from the univ general fund. That number was sub 1 million every year pre-NIL

Correct. Based on LSU’s own report they showed a $28,000 profit for FY25. Here are Alabama’s official athletic department financials for the same time frame.

I truly can't comprehend the level of brokenness that some of you have reached, to the point that you're desperately poring over financial reports from the athletic departments of various universities in hopes of scoring Internet "gotcha" points.

Dalton ranks dead last on the SEC Rant in this category. He constantly gives off micropenis energy.

LSU fans should try it so they will quit making fools of themselves claiming college baseball generates a profit.
LSU fans have been crowing for months now about how much money they have. But when you actually look at their financials you see their credit cards are maxed out and they are making minimum wage.
