I will have to admit, every time the cameras showed the booth it looked like Brady was doing all the talking and E was spitting in a cup but I NEVER saw him blink

What is confusing about that to me......it was widely reported that LSU signed Brady to an extension at roughly $1.5M per year....to be the WR coach/PGC. That is a hell of a lot of money for somebody who was a bit player.

If it was basically all E, why pay Brady that much? E has already learned all he needed and the O has already been installed.

I am being honest. O, and LSU fans, have said numerous times that E was the reason for the success of the O. This tells me Brady had a much larger impact than wants to be acknowledged. There are a lot of college OC's not making $1.5M per year.
ETA Sarkisian made $1.55M last year at bama. He was the highest paid OC in the nation.

There is a pretty long list of former NFL coaches who point and snicker. Lovie Smith is the first who comes to mind. He has a .500 winning % in the NFL and a .300% in college. Lovie was a HC in the NFL for 12 years, with the Bears, and at TB for two. The truth is, most former NFL coaches who drop down to college don't have a lot of success. They don't have the practice time/film study time with college kids that they have with NFL players. It is two very different cultures.
So again, do you think Linehan was kept around for so long in the NFL because he was more bad than good? pretty simple question. The NFL again spits out way more decent coaches than usual for having 1 out of 3 bad seasons, and most coaches in NFL go through times where they certainly arent at the top of their game. Linehan spent 15 years in the NFL and still did more good than bad. You mention Lovie Smith and even he went to 2 NFC championships and 1 super bowl. Not the worst resume ever, and rarely had very bad seasons.
Just perplexed why people think Linehan is such an awful hire to be a PASSING game coordinator in college, truly mystifying. A guy with 15 years experience high level in NFL and 10+ in college is a bad hire?

Yeah, we get he's not Brady, but he's not even doing what Brady did or asked to either. We hired a near 3 decade long high level NFL/College coach to merely help coordinate the passing game

Ok I still as if he won’t have to go ahead to call plays ahead of Steve. I fully trust in Coach O and the idiots that don’t should too.

no they havent. The success for the offense last year was multiple reasons:
1. They hired Brady to install a new offense, he did, and it worked great with our personnel.
2. Ensminger called most of the plays, as he was the OC,m Brady did have more input than a usual PGC/WR coach would, as again it wa shis offense and our first year implementing it
3. Burrow reached levels of QB play basically never seen before in college, racking up the pass TD record, at a school known for struggling to throw the football.
So it wasn't just Brady, it wasn't just Ensminger, it wasn't just Burrow. It was a combination of everything going right at the right time.

This is exactly what he is supposed to be doing.....with Brady's passing game, not his. Unless LSU is going to totally change their playbook, again.

You're arguing with someone that was excited about Chad Morris becoming their offensive coordinator
...
He is a moron.

So what I want to do is bring in a passing game coordinator that can help on third down, help in the red zone just like Joe did, expound on our offense.
Have Linehan's teams been extremely successful in either of those areas? I haven't really followed his career in the NFL.

and I am arguing with people who puffed their chest out and crowed when you "stole" Dameyune Craig from us and "pawned" Kevin Steele off on us.
ETA I also know that every LSU coach is the bestest.............until they leave and then they aren't.

Gotcha. If this offense is more of Ensminger's idea than anybody, I don't understand why you bring in a PASSING game coordinator when throwing the ball is the focal point of the offense
Why would any of this be of any concern outside the LSU community.
The level of concern by non LSU fans is amazing and weird.

No he's not, I';m not sure what's hard for you to grasp here.
We needed and wanted a new offense going into last season and wanted someone to help coach WRs. We hired Joe Brady to help install and help run said new offense, specifically passing wise once installed.
This year we are NOT looking to install any new offense, we have our offense which Ensminger called all of last season now. We did not need anyone to help with WRs. We are bringing in Linehan, a 15 year NFL vet coach and 10+ year college vet coach to help out with calling the passing game in an offense that's already installed.
Pretty big difference in case you still cant get it.
Regardless in the end everyone will call this a bad hire even if the offense is pretty good because we all know it wont come close to or match last year's offense.

I don't understand what is hard for you to grasp......unless you don't know what a PGC is.
If you don't, I will clue you in.
A PGC's job is to gameplan the passing attack against the D you will be facing that week. Linehan will be gameplanning the passing attack with Brady's O (if in fact the system is installed and things aren't changing). Linehan does not run an O resembling what Sean Payton runs.

Kevin Steele
45 to A1abana's backup QB.
508 yards to lowly Steve Ensminger.
52 to A1abana the year before.
30 to Tennessee the year before.
And you all made him the highest paid DC in the country

Meanwhile, LSU won a natty with the guy that replaced him. So I'd say it was a successful pawn.
But hey, between Gus/Chad/Steele, it's hard to argue with an Auburn fan about good coaching hires!
