9/10 Great hire. People complain about ND's schedule but you could say the same about Riley's at OU. I think Kelly proved a lot more at ND than Riley did at OU.

Oh and FAU’s conference prepared Lane for the SEC? Quit being fricking retarded.

I’m laughing at the thought of Kelly wanting to leave ND for the SEC West gauntlet.

Waiting on news that Kelly has gotten an extension and a healthy pay raise.

TRUTH!
You couldn't melt and pour Kelly on an SEC west HC job!
Alabama broke that cat from sucking eggs!

I give it a 9/10

Dude has won AP coach of the year twice (2012 and 2018)

Big name hire that will do well at LSU. Their last two coaches were awful and won NCs.

He already has the DC with him that Ed wanted and couldn’t get (besides Odom).

He is 263-96 as a HC. This is probably the biggest name hire out there.

Made Cincinnati good (Butch took over) and made ND a top team again.

I'd say 7. He's a good recruiter and coach with ND's scholastic limits, but he's kind of old at 60. He'd better win a natty fast in B.R., or they'll be sending him to the nursing home before he's ready. With fewer limits but a much tougher schedule, we'll find out how good of a coach he really is.

C- only because he is a name and LSU needed to save some sort of face in what can only be described as a debacle. No one can seriously believe this is the “big” hire that’s been rumored as getting worked out for weeks. Let’s be real ND has been given the benefit of the doubt for years only to get throttled when it counted.

Solid A for the rest of the league. LSU while getting a name coach from the Midwest loses in terms of recruiting relationships down South. It will take a bit to form those. OU is left scrambling as they try to find their way to the SEC. The rest of the SEC west has to like the possibilities for the next few years.

9/10

You just stole ND's all-time winningest coach from them and at a time when they still have a snowball's chance to land in the CFP.

Alpha move.

EDIT: Does he coach ND if they go to the Playoff?
