LSU has never swept A&M in baseball, and has a losing record to A&M

A&M leads the series with LSU 37-31-1. While the series dates back to 1904, there were not many games played until 1977, which is how far back I can fine the game by game results. (see here and here)
Since 1977, A&M is 31-30 again LSU.
A&M swept LSU in BR in 1978. We didn't play again until 1989, when they broke our hearts, taking two games from #1 A&M in the playoffs. LSU also beat A&M twice in BR, again in the playoffs (this time in 2004). Obviously, those two times we were 0-2 against them in tournament games were massive. If those count as sweeps, LSU has swept A&M twice. If they do not count as sweeps (because they came in tournament play), then LSU has never swept A&M. Ever.
(In before LSU fans point out that they have won 7,000 baseball national titles and A&M has never won one. Yes, I am jealous!).

While not disagreeing with with any of the replies, I will say that I really am surprised there has never been even one sweep.

Well the explanation is in the OP. You only played Skip Bertman 2 times. He was 2-0 against A&M. You never played a series against him his entire career. Then after 2004, I don’t think the two schools met again until 2013. So the sample size is really small. You’re basically looking at the time since A&M joined the SEC.

So your point then.
Would you rather lose a series or get swept by a team or win a natty

I can answer that. Win a natty

Some folks live to be the man.
Some folks live to beat the man.

Age old question:
How many natties?
That’s what I thought
