The word is that he turned back into the guy he was at Ole Miss last year especially when the pressure was on with the anger problems and outbursts.
There's a story that before the Kentuckt game they showed a hype video and it wasn't exactly the way that O wanted it and he berated the staff in front of the players and members of the staff had to be separated.
On top of that, there are these stories like the one in your OP that appear to be true. Also, he had his "girlfriends" at practice and letting their kids join in practice drills. It was an even bigger mess than any of could have imagined.
Also heard on radio today that when the players went to him last year about skipping practice to march on campus that he pushed back against it and that's why they marched without him.

Dude peaked. He failed as a Head Coach at Ole Miss, got overlooked after a successful interim stint at USC, and was doubted the minute he got the job at LSU. Not that it was right, but I can see why he went into “frick it” mode after 2019
