You know the answer...but just in case.
LSU Football is separate from LSU the School. LSU Football makes lots of money and doesn't have to share any with the school (although it does give them some each year, I'm not sure why). LSU's big Boosters donate money to Football separately from the school. TAF has money and can get all the money they need from the Boosters and Fans.

Basically he is allowing the perception that LSU is broke across the board (for political gains) to dominate the reality that LSU football is hurting.

Simple Answer, Promote an already on staff highly paid and respected coach, increase his pay and offer a buyout.
Yes you have a buyout for Yaw Yaw. But they can handle that.
Wonder who would be a great candidate??? a young up and comer, highly respected coordinator, who has proven he is very good....
