Fine in the trenches and DB. O has recruited heavily in the trenches.

A bit of an example for that would be the Gamecocks defense in 2014 compared to 2013, although of course we've never made it to any Playoff.

Exactly. Just like we both made a post at 10:02 in this thread. I guess I move a little faster than you grandpa.

Depends if CEH returns and how well freshman rbs develop. I expect Jefferson to leave but with chase/Marshall back and if Brady stays... sky is the limit. Brennan just needs more experience and learn he doesn’t have to rifle every pass but he has the tools imo to get us back to playoff

Yes Brennan is mobile, he’s not Michael Vick but he has some wheels.

I'll be curious to see once he gets his playing time this coming season if he'll be able to extend plays so efficiently like Burrow. Most QBs have to be somewhat mobile to get that success needed to win a title.

That's an interesting take. What are the losses?

A whole lot of our really talented underclass men got a shite ton of playing time this season. I honestly see us being just as good and maybe better next year depending on how many juniors leave of course

Brennan throws a nice ball and knows the offense. Plus we return a lot of weapons. Solid chance to win the SEC again. We will be competitive no doubt.

Yeah, there's never any telling how many will take a chance at the Draft. LSU's draft stock this year will probably be really significant. That playing time will definitely be crucial for the underclassmen. Good luck!

I believe 10 wins is the floor next year.

I'm not predicting wins and losses this early because of all the unknowns but on your original question about Burrow being gone- Myles Brennan has shown flashes and is extremely talented. Nobody would expect a repeat of Joe next season but he will have plenty of talent around him to be competitive in every game.

I don't forsee a major drop off.

10 or 11 wins is attainable if:

- Every eligible junior doesn’t leave, especially if we close the way we should. The O Line departures could have a big impact.

- One if the young RBs steps up and takes the job (because CEH has to be gone).

- Obviously if Brennan takes the by the end of Spring and spends most of the time drilling with the 1s and getting comfortable running the system.

If those things happen, we should still be a great team and better than all but one opponent. However, road games at UF and Auburn are always tough, even if you have the better team. And Bama will obviously be looking for some payback.

10-2 is a good bet, but we could certainly drop one we shouldn’t, like at A&M last year. I definitely see 9-3 as the floor barring multiple major injuries.

Yes I doubt he will extend plays to the extent Burrow does. Burrow is excellent at that. But Brennan definitely can run and seems mobile. But he will excel in the pocket, making quick reads and rocketing the ball down the field. He has a cannon of an arm.

I know it's just the spring game but Brennan actually outplayed Burrow in our spring game this past year. I've never been very high on him until then. He played extremely well in the spring game.

Jefferson, Moss and Lewis are gone. Probably Cush, as well. Maybe one or two more on the O Line. We have a lot of talent coming back, but there will be some guys leaving who will be missed.
