My guess is that your mommy and daddy live in a tent in Pease Park and you have major student loan debt because their meager money goes to meth.

No. Our stadium attendance is just fine. Thanks.

Sorry Texas, but what you said isn't quite correct.

Texas' announced attendance figures aren't reflective of the actual attendance inside your stadium. They're reflective of the number of tickets sold. Texas estimates that actual "scanned" attendance at DKR is averaging 18,000 to 22,000 less fans than is the announced attendance figures you see below. In truth, Texas' problem is happening all over the country, but not at all schools.

Excerpted from Texas Official Records as stated in its Media Guide...average attendance records since 2010...football record in parenthesis.

2010...100,654 (5-7)
2011...100,524 (8-5)
2012...100,881 (9-4)
2013...98,976 (8-5)
2014...94,103 (6-7)
2015...90,035 (5-7)
2016...97,881 (5-7)
2017...92,777 (7-6)
2018...92,712 (9-4)

DKR officially seats 100,119. Last year's game vs. USC was the largest "attendance" record for Texas @103,507, but it was apparent on TV that there were some empty seats throughout the stadium. Actual "scanned" attendance had to be lower.

This is why Texas and other schools are going to extremes to attract people INSIDE the stadium with packages, events, etc, to improve the game experience for fans that'll hopefully attract them inside the stadium.

Pretty sure it's illegal to do that to the visiting team allocation.

Ummmmm yes you can. Southern Miss did it to us. I still get fricking emails from them every year asking if I want to renew

Renew what? The season ticket you bought? How does one renew a single-game ticket for an opponent that is off the schedule?

You have them your email address.

All your graphic shows is that single-game seats are gone, and if anyone -- LSU, Texas or t-shirt like Kentucky Mustangs -- wants to attend, then you must buy a season ticket from those that have been set aside as such.

You are dense. No one, on either side, was allowed to but single game tickets for the State @ USM game. The university made you buy a season ticket package if you wanted to go to that game.

It was the first game of the season for either team and USM knew that was the only marquis game on their schedule. Their season ticket price was roughly the same as one of State’s home games against a low tier SEC school.

1. Texas reneged on their original agreement to provide 5K tickets to LSU. They actually gave us 3450. They are giving us an additional $500K because of that. Note: 100% of the tickets UT gave us are in the top half of the upper deck. Not one single ticket in the lower bowl. Our pep band must sit up there and our cheerleaders and mascot will cheer in front of only UT fans.

2. Many LSU fans voluntarily bought UT season tickets to get LSU tickets. My neighbor bought 4 UT season tickets and has already sold his tickets to 3 UT home games online to recoup some of his outlay.

3. LSU should never have scheduled a game at Texas under these absurd circumstances. These arrangements just confirm how utterly without class the UT admin is.

I can't remember the specific link the actual scanned attendance report is connected to, but the Texas figures were reported in a news story a few months ago about the subject of announced attendance figures vs. actual scanned attendance figures. The story cited Texas, Alabama, OU, Michigan and several other schools that have been having problems getting fans inside the stadium. It shared the story of how Texas has some kind of event prior to the game located just outside the stadium (I can't recall the event's name, etc), but its new. The story mentioned the Texas figure and I jotted it down in my notes back then that I used to cite in my post.

Several news outlets have done stories on this...Wall Street Journal, Dallas Morning News, and several sports websites.

Edit: Here's a Texas article about "scanned" vs. "announced" attendance. At the top, it mentions that this could be the reason why Texas will NOT be adding seats to its stadium in the future. The article is general in its directive...it's from the Wall Street Journal that the Texas website linked it to.

Sounds like bullshite, but if true, your athletics director agreed to that ticket structure when the series contract was signed, and I hope you ran him out on a rail afterward.

But anyone who confuses "marquis" for "marquee" is too stupid to breathe in the first place.

Bottom line is, LSU was afforded an allotment of single-game seats in Austin, no strings attached (other than not being a poor).

It's common only amongst schools with actual attendance problems. UCLA would know.

You are correct. The story originally did not include Texas, but it does now.

Aggy was 71 percent scanned compared to announced, UT Austin was 66 percent.

Hey new fan....

You must not be aware of the past shenanigans in Austin with respect to season tickets. Your last AD had his people searching Stub Hub and other after market sites to try and figure out which season ticket holders in Austin were selling their seats to threaten them.

I understand you are a new fan and all but good grief... you don't know jack shite about attendance in Austin. This game will be a sellout. Go see any other game in Austin the rest of the year dipshit.
