The Corvette Museum is absolutely worth going to if you're driving through Bowling Green.
Today we did the Corvette museum, the Lost River boat tour, Carson’s Dairy Farm and the National Aviation museum

Merrick Inn is another great spot if you're looking for high dollar fine dining. Old horse money, bourbon, cigars on the patio , etc.

If you're coming in town, travel safe, and try to get in early to take in the scenery. Get in on some bourbon tours, and/or visit Keeneland. Look forward to meeting fans at the tailgate. The Bama fans were great overall, and we shared beers with quite a few before kickoff.
We will be in Frankfurt tomorrow

Not a racing guy, so serious question, is it that big of a deal?
I'm not a racing guy either but friends and I go at least once in the fall and another time in the spring for races. We will also go to "the hill" which is just Keeneland tailgating and hangout all day. It's just a fun time and if you have a chance to experience it, you should.

I live right between Frankfort and Lexington. I don’t care for Frankfort so I don’t have any recs. Sorry man.

No bad sight lines in the stadium. Just some seats further away but no obstructions. Nobody gets stuck behind a post. Stadium was built in 1973 so is more “modern” in terms of design with thoughts to additions and modifications. Strange to say but it is the “newest stadium” in the SEC at 53 years old.

Mami Monchitas is my favorite restaurant in Frankfort. Rick's White Light Diner for breakfast is pretty good. Thai Smile is another of my favorites. IF you want more high end, Cypress and Oak is your best option. I've only been there once so I can't say much about it other than I thought it was good.
Mami Monchitas is the best option for food though. We don't have a ton in Frankfort. If you want a nice little bar, drive over to Georgetown (25 minutes away from downtown Frankfort) and go to Slainte.
Forgot to include Kentucky Coffeetree Cafe for coffee. Linney's is a solid lunch option as well.

Buffalo Trace distillery is there. Daniel Boone’s grave is in the Frankfort cemetery. I’d head over to Bardstown to Talbot Tavern. I’d get reservations for dinner. It was built in 1779 and is the oldest stage coach stop in the US still operating. George Patton, George Roger’s Clark, Daniel Boone, Abe Lincoln and Jesse James stayed there. There are still bullet holes in the wall left by Jesse James.
Good food and lots of bourbon. And the bread pudding with bourbon sauce is terrific.

The Frankfort Cemetery is pretty cool and Daniel Boone's grave has a great view of the capital.

Since you'll be in Frankfort you should do Buffalo Trace but it's the most industrial tour around, a lot of outside, blacktop, walking but depending on what the bourbon of the day is in the gift shop you may be able to get eagle rare or blanton's at retail prices. Castle and Key is my favorite distillery tour in the area and on the way there you see some beautiful countryside and horse farms.

They had a fire at Castle and Key the other day. Nobody injured and no bourbon lost, just some old buildings. Woodford Reserve is right there too just up or down the road depending on direction of travel.

quote:Damn, I hadn't heard that. The old buildings, and the grounds, are why it's my favorite tour. It's also a very underrated, fairly unknown, bourbon. Woodford is a good tour too, with some very nice grounds and scenery on the drive

ETA:. I did see there was a fire at Glenn's Creek. Was there one at Castle and Key too?
