I don't think you realistically win 11 games and only lose to Bama. Could happen once but the timing of that game pretty much seals your season as a disappointment. When you lose you are out of championship contention with 2-3 games left, and all your best players look towards the draft.

Neither McClendon nor Miles were fired for losing to alabama. BOth lost too many games to teams they were favored to beat. And Mac just lost waaaaaaay too many games period.

Saban is a great HC. O won't be fired for losing to Saban's teams.

A question that would take more thought:

Would bama keep saban if he makes it to the national champ game every year but loses every time to whomever the opponent is? Clemson, osu, fsu would be thought of kinda oh well, but sprinkle in losses to boise st, wash st,purdue, over the run and its at 10 yrs in a row.

Tough decision but the results roll yr after yr

An outsiders opinion here, but it looks like they'd be okay with a long term losing streak to Bama, as long as some other team beats them once in a while. It's a win-win for LSU. They get to keep a mediocre ( dont have to pay him as much ) coach. They can always change their sigs and avatars to teams that can beat Bama, rejoicing in stolen glory.
