Say you had a coach who won every game except Alabama for 10 years. Wins 11 or 12 games every year. Hasnt won a national championship or beat Alabama but has done everything else. Would you still keep him?

Great Question. Cholly Mac can give you an answer maybe.

I'm just wondering since yall aren't rivals or anything as long as they're winning double digit wins every year why should it matter if they beat bama or not

No. If he can’t accomplish those things then what’s the point?

Would Arkansas keep a coach that went 2-10? yes.

From '74 onwards, he was losing a lot more than just the Bama game.

Difficult to compare to now though. Coaches had a much longer leash in the 60s and early 70s than they do now or even in the 80s and 90s.

O can lose to Bama and one other team every year and keep his job for quite a while. 3 or more losses year after year coupled with an inability to beat Bama will get you fired sooner or later (see Les Miles). Especially if the losses to Bama are by multiple scores. Fans gotta believe there is hope. So do the players.

That was his first year. Have you seen how man worthless players we purged since 2-10?

Nope, but Les didn’t win 10 in a regular season his last 4 years at LSU (including the year he got canned, he would’ve had to win out).

I don’t think Bert goes 2-10 with the same players and schedule. I just don’t see it Toots!

Bama has pretty much beat everyone.
By that logic all coaches would have to be replaced.

Bert recruited our problems. He declined, got fired, Chad lost and processed. Our roster is in much better shape and Chad is doing good things to ensure the mentality is changing.

How long would Georgia keep one? A pretty long time. That's a nice black color he is wearing.
