Have been to several games over his past 4 years and haven’t missed one this season (tv for most). He doesn’t have the arm strength to throw someone out at home. You or no one can tell me he does. Yes he pitched (got a win against ole miss pitching) and yes he locates his throws well but if someone was running home from second on a single jake would not throw them out at home on a major league field.

This is just dead wrong. Mangum has a plus arm. Not plus plus, but still well above average. Look at his scouting reports.

A blurb from his Mets' profile:
quote:

He has plenty of range in center field thanks to his excellent speed, but his routes are still unrefined. With better route taking, he could be a future above-average defensive center fielder. He possesses a strong arm as well.

Another report:
quote:

his defense in center field looks like it could be above-average. He’s got a big throwing arm

He throws a mid 90's fastball. Teams do not run on him on your typical runner on 2nd base hit to center. The guy can hose you at the plate.

Hope you're not scouting for my favorite teams.

This. It amazes me how some people claim to be MSU fans yet are clueless. Mangum has an arm and throws perfect from the outfield yet we have “so called fans” who tell you he has no arm. One so-called fan said he can’t throw to the plate for an out? He’s a freaking outfielder, not a short stop. I swear we have fans that don’t understand baseball and that is pathetic.

Don't know if they both make the majors at the same time, but that minor league team will be lit.

It's a shame they will be shipped up north. Imagine if they were in Biloxi. Them 2 alone, would sell tickets like hotcakes.
