Imagine your team's logo at the top of this list in place of LSU, yet having just a 61% SEC winning percentage since 2012.

I don't think that would sit well in Tuscaloosa. Or Knoxville. Or Auburn. Or Athens.

There is every reason to believe LSU will remain at the top of that list for the foreseeable future: LSU's recruiting classes since 2013 have ranked between #2 and #7 nationally according to 247 Sports. LINK

The LSU fanbase has a reputation for being irrational and having unrealistic expectations. But can any other fanbase say they'd be fine with squandering this much talent?

List can be deceiving. How many of those players on NFL rosters have been gone from LSU for 6 years or more (left after 2011 season)?

No doubt there are tons of LSU guys in the league, but how does LSU compare to others on that list if you just look at players who have entered the league in the last 2-5 years (the time frame you mention LSU having a low winning percentage)?

Not a rhetorical question. I'm genuinely curious.

Also it seems like LSU has put a lot of DB's and WR in the NFL. So very position heavy and not equal across the board (impressive none the less). Certainly no QB's and in CFB today the top teams year in and out how above average QB play.

I think that's a good question, so I looked it up.

Of the 49 on NFL Week 2 rosters, 11 finished playing at LSU before 2012. So 38 of the 49 are "recent" LSU players (played in the past 5 years).

Another fair point...here is the position breakdown...

QB 0
RB 5
WR 6
OL 8
DL 9
LB 7
DB 11
K/P 2
LS 1

It's no secret LSU's QB play has been lacking...and that has hurt us...but in looking at this list, an LSU QB's job should be so much easier because of the elite talent around him.

Are these guys recent? The OL in particular didn't produce at a high level in college if so.

This a myth. LSU wouldn't have had 9/10 win seasons without a solid OL. You're a Bama fan though, and your perception is different as Bama destroys LSU's OL every season. This 2017 line may be the worst in a long time, but the early struggles can also be attributed to a new scheme.

The 8 OL, along with their last year at LSU::

Vadal Alexander 2015
Joe Barksdale 2010
La'el Collins 2014
Jerald Hawkins 2015
Trai Turner 2013
Ethan Pocic 2016
Andrew Whitworth 2005
Dillon Gordon* 2015
*-played TE at LSU

From 2011-2016, our OL could outmuscle just about anyone but Bama. Sometimes it would take a while because of the toss-dive offense under Les, though.

So L6U is winning 6 out of 10 games. So L6U is losing 4-5 games a year.

Sounds about right.

Oh go frick yourself

As an lsu fan it really is disturbing the amount of talent wasted.

At least hallman had no talent. Dinardo broought the talent back onto baton rouge, just wasted it. Saban, of course, capitalized on it, to an extent.

But even he struggled to win a ton of games here.

Lsu is second tier, no doubt. But they are still ly Tigers!!

Agreed LSU has great talent.

But consider how few OL LSU has had drafted in the first round.

I agree you have a point.

We have 6 O-line drafted in the last 3 years playing in the NFL. I would have to imagine that is at the top of the NFL as well.....

And that's what has our fans so frustrated. If we were 60th nationally in recruiting and only had 5 NFL players, nobody would expect much.
