IN 2001 Ole miss beat us pretty good. its been 21 years since then. YOu think LSU fans give a chit about that today? No... and do you know why? Because we won the west and beat an undefeated Tenn team that E V E R Y O N E said we had absolutely no chance to beat with our back up qb. WE were SEC champs. So if Ole miss takes any solace or joy from beating us way back then in 2001 Im happy for them. Just like Ill be happy for you in 20 years when I tell a similar story about us beating UGA for the SEC championship. You goat herders will prob still be paying Jimbos contract off and looking for your first SEC championship appearance lololololololol!

They're in year 5 of Jimbo and only have a couple of upsets and worse overall record than Sumlin to show for it.

Every single LSU fan I talked to at my Tailgate, at Kyle Field, at the water cooler at work...all that mattered was "we beat Bama". That's it.
If Georgia beats up on LSU, I can see a red hot South Carolina team jump LSU for the Citrus Bowl. What we all want to see is LSU play Notre Damn in a Bowl Game, lol.

ALL LSU fans care about every game especially SEC games.
A&M beats LSU by 15 points and Aggies will talk about that game for years. LSU beats the Aggies so often (9 of the last 12 games, this century) it really does not register with us much when we win.

Because its simple. The game was not meaningless but no one really took that playoff serious this year. Even in the position we were in before the Aggie game.
95% of LSU fans thought this year would be a struggle to win 7 games and make a bowl, me included. We just hired a coach that took 39 players and turn them into a roster, although thin, that beat Saban/Bama and won the SEC West in his first year. Hiccups were expected this year. Florida State, Tenn, Aggie are not exactly surprising. I thought it would have been Gumps instead of Tenn, but that is not how it played out. So yes, we lost Saturday and out of a play off we did not expect to be in.... Not sure why this is hard to understand?
