LSU didn't even simulate "cowbells" at practice this week.

I'm more worried about the roar of crop dusters flying in formation pregame.

I went to my first game at State in I think 1984 or so when the stadium was a glorified HS stadium with maybe 35k attendance. They were just as sure then as they are now that those cowbells were soooo loud and intimidating.
Now I understand this is their farm-like tradition. And I respect tradition. But having watched 6 or 7 games there over the years I actually think the cowbells make the volume LESS intimidating, because they aren't committed to SCREAMING like schools like LSU and Florida.
