We don't know anything to call this botched. Apparently Woodward has had his guy for three weeks now. Look at his history of hires throughout his career. He goes big, especially this being his most important hire he's ever had to make. We'll all find out soon.

I read this as Aranda and Napier weren’t interested in interviewing for the job.
Otherwise, it’s a mistake by Woodward not to interview them.

While that would be awesome I'm not speculating on the quality of the search until the result is known. Woodward could easily have an ace up his sleeve that will surprise everyone. That said if it ends up being anything less than a major splash at this point it will be a big blow to LSU and especially to Woodward's reputation. LSU was out front on the coaching search by firing O so early, better not end with a fizzle.
