Not even remotely analogous.

Ole Miss is our biggest historical rival.

If Lane Kiffin had been coaching the Vols the last 6 years and had them lined up for the CFP and then bolted for Bama, y'all would be behaving exactly the same way as LSU is towards Ole Miss.

DeBoer is a solid hire and we'll see how it plays out. His margin of safety is no less thin than Kelly's was at LSU. He's got to have success in the CFP in the next few years or he'll be out on his arse too.

We already hired Kiffin before. We did not act that way.

We hired Butch Jones as well. The extent of that ribbing was mostly Tennessee paying him to wash Saban's car, and him smoking cigars in the Alabama locker room after Alabama beat Tennessee.

Deboer has already exceeded everything Brian Kelly did.

Don't count your chickens yet.

BK also opened the season with a loss to FSU culminating in a trip to Atlanta.

Y'all still gotta play the game this Saturday.

And Saban rehabbing coaches as assistants is also not remotely analogous. Keep reaching.

You know I'm right that DeBoer's margin of safety is thin. Bama fans have already been quite restless with DeBoer and his seat warms right back up if they aren't making progress with the CFP.

LSU fans hold the Missouri and Ole Miss football programs in contempt. They say they are inferior. Everything about them sucks.

Yet they keep raiding them for coaches.

That is strange.

That $20 million portal class led us to a respectable 7-5 record, no way ole' miss' guy ever did better than that with $20 million...was probably a total flop

I'm not counting chickens, I'm counting losses. And we can count blowout losses by 20 or more points if you really want to get freaky about BK's best year.

If anything it's even better for Alabama because we weren't stuck over-stating their resume as a means of coping because they were hired as a HC.

I hope to never live in the hell that would be having to hire a former Tennessee coach who has 0 accomplishments and has been fired repeatedly as our HC.

I don't think you have a remote clue about Alabama's hiring and firing practices. Of our past 8 coaches we have fired only 2 of them. 3 out of 9 if you want to count Mike Price. 3 of them retired, the other 3 left for other jobs(all with 10 win seasons when they left).
