Sure it would, if the question was not restricted on the consistency issue. But no self-respecting Alabama fan is going to give up one of our seventy one national championships. Not sure if serious.

BayouBengal, you are a pretty good poster. If LSU fans were given the same trade on the same terms? Well?

I think it's one of those deals where neither school's fan base would trade, simply because it's our team and we accomplished those things.

I value LSU's consistency. I value that we have never had a major NCAA violation ever. I value this 15-year sustained run of excellence.

However, I would also value 3 national championships. LSU has two, so it's not like we're missing it by much. I guess the "dynasty" factor has to be considered.

Basically, would Alabama fans trade one less national championship for more consistency, and a more clean program? Honestly, I don't think having a clean program matters too much to Alabama (just basing this on what I know of their history). Winning is what matters. Counting titles is what matters. So, 3>2.

It really doesn't matter. Both programs are great. Pretty much the class of the SEC this century. Saban vs. Miles is honestly probably the biggest coaching rivalry of the century, too. Unless I'm missing one. Carroll/Harbaugh didn't last long enough in college. Stoops/Brown was meh. Tressel/Carr was okay, but Ohio State pretty much kicked arse in that time frame.

This is the best prolonged rivalry in college football right now, IMO. Not necessarily in the traditional sense (obviously the Iron Bowl is bigger), but in terms of the importance and value of this game in the overall scope of college football; and how much it means every single year.

It is the biggest. Saturday will be awesome.

Not just Bear and Saban.

Wallace Wade 3 Natties. As many as your entire schools history.

How's it working out for me?

OP should have asked if the sidewalk fans would trade all their NCs for the equivalent boost in IQ.

See the thing is, why would I give a shite that we have sidewalk fans? Or how intelligent those fans are? Everyone loves the tide, oh how terrible.

Have an upvote. Policed up the mess the aptly-named BlackCloud and the admittedly intellectually challenged Sampson made.

I don't think Florida fans should be the ones talking when it comes to an overinflated sense of achievement based off of a period of a little over a decade....

So they'd decline? They didn't need them up to this point, right? The IQ points, I mean.

Even we don't claim that football started in 2000.
