LSU/Bama Rivalry? quote: Yeah, you just don't get it. Somehow, you just can't conceive of what a rivalry actually is. That's ok, don't give up on me

Cheers. You had a great season

guess he is mad the state of Alabama has three NC's in 3 years and Saban and Chizik did what Miles could not. Go undefeated and win the title.

This is the kind of post I am talking about...

You got a rematch and took full advantage-congrats!

Do you think LSU will ever recieve a 2nd chance to wreck either AU or Alabama's season for a National Championship?-...after beating LSU the first time on their homefeild...

It won't ever happen in my lifetime...

So yes, that makes me pretty butt hurt over the facts...

If you're good enough, and the right teams blocking your way get beat...

So you think the Iron Bowl was less significant to the fans during periods when both teams weren't each contending for a NC

Well, if you get all worked up over which team will go home or go to the Muffler bowl, then I don't understand the rivarly

That's just it...it is not about anything other than the game being played and the ability or inability to carry the burden of a loss for the next 364 days.

Anything is possible. So who knows, LSU might get that chance.

This much is obvious.

Seems like knowing home field advantage has only been an advantage 9 of 31 times since 1981 would make you less bitter.

It won't happen...

Nick Saban and the Alabama name brand, recent years success had a lot to do with this year's BCS rankings

It's not about who goes to what bowl. It's about bragging rights, for the next 364 days (or 365 if we're in a leap year). We share the same state. The IB is all about bragging rights.

So no, you don't understand the rivalry.

This much is clear. The game is about bragging rights for the year in a state that doesn't have any other major sports teams. Sure, it helps greatly when both teams are contending for championships, but that's not what it's all about. You are born into this rivalry, and if you move here from somewhere else, you choose a side.

Yeah, nothing to do with the fact that all those other teams lost. And that Alabama and LSU were viewed as the best two teams in the nation. Not to mention several thought Alabama was the only team capable of beating LSU, or that they might actually be the better team. Which was proven to be the case.

I understand the rivarly is 365 day deal an is very unique..because it's in-state.
