Sadly, I agree with you on this.

LSU has the talent.

LSU is a great program now.
If LSU has a bad season, they'll just make a coaching upgrade and be back in business.
No need to worry.

Was LSU the best team in the country those two year?
Maybe not, but they were the team that won the National Championship game, so it's a moot point.

Not really moot.

If it were moot, then USC would not have been voted #1 by the AP poll, which historically has been considered the most legitimate national poll.

The BCS is no less mythical than the traditional naming of a "national champion" via poll voting. That it often does not feature the two best teams in the country makes it even more of a sham than the traditional polls.

But the only solution is a playoff and that is never going to happen, so, whatever......

And none of this makes Ole Miss's ongoing choke-when-it-really-matters tradition any more palatable. This goes back even to the days of Archie, you know.......we were ranked 4th in the country in 1970 and lost a home game to USM 30-14 at a time when USM was on a par with Delta State.

The culture of "choke" at Ole Miss is really something pathetic to behold......

Why exactly are you an Ole Miss fan, again?

I heard you say that you never attended school here.

Backing into a "title game" against a Big Ten team didn't impress anybody......any more than having a bogus "title" in USC's national championship season of '03 did.....
We went home with the crystal ball in 03, not USC. The rest of your post is ok.

You are not competitive year-in and year-out.

You were a disgrace for almost an entire decade until Nick Saban pulled you out of it.

You were not a national power from the early 70's until the 2000's......and your SEC record during that time was just barely break-even.

You have a grossly inflated view of your program.......as do many Ole Miss fans.....

You should see him on the poli board.

But seriously, Ole Miss is a better football team than LSU right now, and it's only by default.

So then from what you are saying LSU won National Titles in 1958 and 2007 while Ole Miss has never won one.

You may be 4-0, but you've been outgained by a solid 25-30 yards a game.

That's not a problem if you are playing good teams, but you haven't been playing good teams.

And but for the luck of ASU's kicker being out with an injury, Georgia would be 0-2 in OOC play at this point.

Don't remember the guy actually "missing". I'm pretty sure AJ Green took care of that.

Nope, I just tell the truth.

Other great Ole Miss chokes

1969--Archie's junior season; a 2-point loss to a pathetic Kentucky team early in the season nullifies the great run at the end, preventing an SEC championship and possible national championship

2003--losing to Memphis early on eliminates any possibility of a BCS bowl

Never mind the NCAA tourney choke loss to Villanova or the fact that the baseball team has yet to make it to the CWS despite 5-6 years of Top Ten rankings......

Face it, when everything is on the line, Ole Miss fails to get it done.....and I doubt you can give me one single example of that not being the case in the last 40 years.......

So from 1970 to 2008, Ole Miss has beaten LSU a total of 12 times. If we were a disgrace, what does that make Ole Miss?

Was this thread really necessary? I never pegged you for a complete troll. Guess I was wrong in that assessment.

I am pretty sure it was 10-8. Our 8 came late on a TD and two-point conversion. The one point loss was a week later to Bama, 33-32.

Yeah--much more pathetic than losing to Villanova.....
