He's the king of the moving screen.

Based on his footwork and reach, Stoops should give him a look at LT this spring.

Not defense, moving screens, holding, and shoving guys in the back on rebounds.

I was trading texts with my UK buddy during the game. He didn't deny it, justified it with skin color

Well, he is slow as fricking molasses. Does it count as "moving" when he's that slow? (yes, I'm kidding)

I could say just the same about half of the SEC (and not even in just the SEC) in the post when it comes to over the back and moving screens though. I don't think you even see it called consistently across the board anymore.

It would have been nice to see a replay of that instead of crusty Ashley Judd the whole timeout.

She's lookin' rough for sure.

If anyone is going to get called for it, it will be because they are on the road in the SEC. Home teams don't do moving screens.

I mean at least they're consistently bad.

I guess it could be worse though. Big East officials may be worse. I'm convinced the fact that you can shank a motherfricker under the basket in the Big East all season is part of the reason out of one or two teams that make a run they struggle in NCAA Tournament play.

Good game though, didn't think it'd be that close. Very encouraging for us going forward. I'm going start drinking, or more accurately, keep drinking, but in a different location.

Don't let him sweet talk you, instead of just saying Wiltjer fouled he called him the dirtiest player in the other thread.

Belle, do UK fans ever talk about or ask why Hickey wasn't recruited at all by UK? Gotta figure Cal has to recruit 1 non-lottery pick every to have a few older players on the roster.

I said the same thing in this thread. Both times I compared him to John Stockton. The dirtiest player ever to play the game.

I'd say good game again but apparently it makes a passive-aggressive prick.

Hickey is going to get a SEC POY before he's a Senior if he stays around. Some of the pieces Jones is adding is going to push LSU Basketball back into the conversation in the SEC. I'm excited for you guys.

And be safe with all that drinking and different locations.

I won't hate on PPat. I don't agree with him on it obviously, but I'd talk basketball with him on here before I would a lot of posters.

Im going out on a limb here but it was probably because of Hickey's size.

He was a 3-star coming out and wasn't offered by Kentucky or Louisville. If you look at his offer list there were a lot of schools that passed on him. And Kentucky picked up the #5 player in the class (Marquis Teague) at that position. Doesn't make Hickey any less of a player though. Just wasn't enough room on the bus IMO.

It's like asking why Kentucky didn't recruit Chris Lofton. In that '04 class we signed Joe Crawford (5 stars), Ramel Bradley (3 stars) and Rajon Rondo (5 stars) at SG/PG.

ETA: Cal has had some 3-4 year talent on the roster too that hasn't necessarily panned out. Wiltjer is a multi-year guy but has struggled defensively. Jon Hood was highly rated coming out but was likely to be multi-year guy and could've played that Darius Miller role but has struggled with injuries. Twany Beckham transferred in but he's also had injury issues.

Hickey wasn't really that great until his Senior year and all of the 2011 class committed during their Junior years.

Like I said, it's similar to the Lofton situation. Late bloomer so not really a "miss". Sometimes it just works out that way.

The silver lining to today though is Poythress actually showed up a bit today. I'm not holding my breath on it until I see it consistently but it's a start if he can get over his shite.

Are they allowed to go to the monitor to see if six men were on the court?

True, but I'm not talking about offers here. Hickey says that UK and Louisville never even bothered to contact or recruit him at all. While I know your class was very full. I thought Hickey played better than Teague last year.
