Do tell, Cats fans? Why is that so? Did Louisville command a bunch of money to facilities and coaches or something? Has UK not kept pace? Do they not care? Is it too hard to win and recruit in the SEC when you're at the bottom of the barrel? Not a troll, just curious.

Tough to compete in the SEC, the conference is just crazy deep.

They just went to their first Super last season under Mingione. Despite the drop off this season, they’re in better shape then they’ve been in a long time with facilities and coaching.

Louisville also struck gold with McDonnell and doesn’t play the gauntlet of the SEC. Kentucky would’ve likely been in a similar place had they been able to hang onto Cohen.

I also find this post rich as hell given how long Auburn occupied the bottom of the barrel in basketball until they finally decided to invest in it in recent memory.

A) Different schools have different sports emphasized

B) Top baseball school in the ACC is easy with 75% average to below average

C) SEC baseball and softball may be tougher top to bottom than SEC football

Nobody said Jurich was bad at what he did. Just bad in how he did it. That guy could pick coaching talent when he saw it.

Kick TAMU out and replace with a complete sports program in Texas Tech. A&M is a ball’n chain in this conference.

I would challenge that statement. ACC has traditionally been top tier baseball conference and this season is no different. Little difference in talent with SEC.

You can't tell that to fans who prop up on the conference to make up for the lack of success for the school they pull for

Did you totally miss the point of the original post?

The original post was comparing an in state SEC program that has struggled in baseball lately to a cross state rival from the ACC who has found sustained success in the sport.....

Not quite sure how Auburn Basketball factors in here, but whatever

Everybody knows the OP was simply trying to troll Kentucky for the lack of baseball success.

SEC is tough top to bottom and every school except UK has been to or won a CWS

ACC schools with no trips
Boston College
Notre Dame
Syracuse
Pittsburgh
Virginia Tech
Maryland (when they were in the ACC)

25 trips for Miami, 5 wins (most were before they joined the ACC)
4 trips for Virginia, 1 win 09, 11, 14, and 15
2 trips for Wake Forest, 1 win 49 and 55
23 trips for Florida State, no wins
12 trips for Clemson, no wins
11 trips for North Carolina, no wins
5 trips for Louisville, no wins 07, 13, 14, 17, and 19 (only 2 as ACC school)
3 trips for Georgia Tech, no wins 94, 02, and 06
3 trips for Duke, no wins 52, 53, and 61
2 trips for NC State, no wins 68 and 13

7 CWS for the entire current conference and moat of those are Miami before they joined the ACC. About 1/3 of the entire conference has never been.

CWS champs by conference.....

18 PAC
11 SEC
7 WAC
6 B1G
6 PCC (what became the PAC)
5 Independent
4 Big Eight (what became B12)
4 SWC (what became B12)
2 B12
2 Big West
2 Southern Californian (non PAC Cali schools)
2 ACC

Mingione is an a-hole. That’s all I have to add to this conversation.
