Never understood this from a competitive standpoint. I would love an automatic conference win every year

Louisville has definitely been investing big money in athletics. Just check out their facilities..... they're very nice.

The Louisville Commuter School hasn't invested a ton of money into facilities. Corporate sponsors have.

There's a difference. The state wont fund your facilities and your school is unable to do so, so they rely on corporate sponsors.

How many SEC schools have stooped that low?

I'd rather have FSU than Louisville.

Papa John's paid $5MM for naming rights. That stadium (and expansion) cost a ton more than $5MM.

KFC paid $13MM for naming rights on a $238MM arena. The rest of the money is coming from somewhere other than KFC.

That's really not any different than Paul Bryant Jr giving $10MM toward a stadium expansion.

Yes, taxpayers and they are taking a bath on that chicken bucket.

Absolutely we missed not inviting Lville. Fact is the SEC ran from a school that logistically and competitively makes sense.

But again if we don't have patsies to beat up on to feed the alpha dogs someone like Auburn, Tennessee, or us will decline. I'm in favor of adding Memphis and S. Miss

You have no idea. "Jersey Shore" might as well have been conceived at U ah L.

I'm not completely up on the details, but I think the basketball arena was actually built and owned by the city of Louisville. It isn't on campus and is not owned by UofL. But UofL via some good ole boy network, negotiated a sweet deal with the city where the university makes money on every event held at the arena.

I'm failing to see the big deal about this? They have great facilities. I could care less how they get them.

Yum Arena is owned by the city and the state. Not UL. The arena is losing money while UL reaps in profit.

This.

Went to a Springsteen concert at the chicken bucket last November, and as great as it was, it pained me to know that half my ticket cost went to Tommy Turtleneck.

I think that's great, now you know how most of us UofL fans feel when we pay our taxes (you know, since without Louisville and Northern Kentucky, most of the rest of the state would probably still only have dirt roads). It's hard knowing that most of my hard earned tax money is going to support UK with very little of my money going to support UofL and other state universities.

So you know what, I don't feel sorry for you or any UK fans about giving UofL money when you attend an event at the YUM! Center. The city of Louisville (and therefore most UofL fans) have almost single handidly keep this state going, it's about time you all gave us some of that money back. :)

Awww, look at the butthurt Uk and Florida fans. Judging from our past couple bowl games against Florida and Alabama I'd LOVE to play in the $EC. I think we'll get more competition in the ACC though, thanks. Both our matchups against the almighty $EC teams were over in the first quarter. The funny thing is these Uk fans have to photoshop pictures of Louisville fans to make fun of them, but Id be happy to post countless pics of mullet sporting, jort wearing, moonshine drinking, trailer park livin, sister screwin, GED havin, toothless, hilljack UK fans. No photoshopping needed.
These bitter Kentucky fans have watched our program blow right by them in everything from facilities, to revenue, to overall athletic success and it eats them alive. Don't even bring up tax money either. The city of Louisville accounts 40% of the states entire revenue you dumbasses. If it weren't for the city of Louisville, you may as well lump Kentucky and West Virginia into one big worthless landfill. Its about time we reaped the benefits of OUR OWN generated money. Don't bite the hand that feeds you losers.
