You fricking dumbass, Porter is a UofL fan.
Belle, you take all the fun out of it. I was enjoying watching ACC make an arse out of themselves with Porter.

UL played in the Sugar Bowl and they only sold 54,000 tickets for the game. Do you not see the real issue here on why folks will not schedule the Cards? Top SEC schools play big time programs for ratings and at this point Card football is low demand
Hate to burst your little bubble but Louisville brought the fans. Estimates of 30-35,000 came down to New Orleans. If you want to point blame at the attendance, point fingers at your own conference bretheren. I mean really....who only sells 7,000 to a bowl game?
Regarding ratings, the Sugar Bowl did just fine and some of ESPN's highest rated Thursday night games involved Louisville.

SO I'm making an arse out of myself because I didn't realize he was a Louisville fan? Mmmkay. Ill call out any fan , Louisville or not, for butchering the English language. I don't discriminate there. I can understand that after the rough day I put you through Grits. How badly did you want us to lose today? I pray we somehow get Mississippi State after we send Indiana home. That will lock us into the title game. Playing $EC teams is far easier than the Big East. 10-2 and your two wins were against pitchers buried deep in the rotation, Walk in the park.

Maybe but he has a point. UF fans didn't travel.

Where the hell did all these Louisville fans come from?

A UK fan (Belle?) said this thread got linked to one of the major Louisville boards...and here we are.

Well.... welcome. They can't be any worse than a lot of current posters

It is not all just what you send genius. Sending lots of folks every 5 - 10 years is not the same as sending that number or more every year. It takes 2 sides to make the equation work and the numbers tell me having UL vs the Gators does not excite the Gator fans the same way FSU did back in 1997. There is a reason the SEC and B1G play so many bowl games against each other because both conferences have lots of fan demand for such games.
AHHHH! Thank you oh wise Navy fan. LMAO!!! Is THAT how it works?? While I'll admit we dont exactly send 10K fans to UCONN to watch us slap them around, Louisville fans travel very well when we play good teams. Why I'm even wasting my breath here Ill never know, but attending games @ WVU, NC State, Kansas State, and a host of others I can tell you first hand not only did we sell our allotment of visitor tickets but then some.
Wait...why am I even discussing football with a Navy fan again? Thanks for the 101 on how it works though. After the arse pounding we handed Florida I bet they travel better next time. It only takes one lesson.

You did not read the previous post very well. it is great that UL sent 30K to NOLA but I am talking about having 2 parts to the equation.
a) big fan base of your own
b) high enough demand to excite the opposing fans
As stated before Bama holds over 100 K as does Penn State so when they play each side can send lots and lots of fans for regular season games to fill the opponents stadium. Do you think Gator fans would be more excited to play Louisville or Texas in the Sugar Bowl? I know the Cards think it is a big deal because they are new to it but the big schools fans want to play other big schools. Louisville is not there yet and may never get there (stadium in the 80K to 100K range) to generate that demand.
If you are talking about thursday ratings you just do not understand college football. The big dollars are for the 3:30 slot and the night game on saturdays. Saying you sell well on thursdays is like saying you are king of the rats. Sure you are a king but you are still a rat. Look at the numbers for a Texas vs Souther Cal game and see how much they differ from a Louisville vs thursday night opponent and get back to me.

This is a great board. I'm having a blast here. I always enjoy rubbing salt in the wounds of uk fans. They're drinking themselves into a moonshine coma over all out success. Theyve been sitting at home since November watching our BCS win, National Championship, and College World Series runs. Fun times.

You've got to love the bragging about playing on Thursday nights so much.

As if I haven't embarrassed you enough today some people just don't know when to shut the hell up.
A direct quote from not one but TWO Thursday Night ESPN games played by none other than...drum roll please, Louisville.
"First, West Virginia-Louisville Nov. 2 shattered the network's 11-year-old record for a Florida State-Virginia matchup with a 5.3 rating that translated to 4.91 million households tuned in. Then, a week later, Louisville-Rutgers captured a 5.0 ranking and 4.62 million households." Hmmm, we shattered an 11 year old record that STILL STANDS TO THIS DAY?? That was back in 2006. Heres another QUOTE:
Those two Big East contests represent the second- and third-largest audiences for regular-season college football broadcasts in ESPN's history -- Thursday, Saturday, whenever.

Dude, just shut up man. You are clueless and honestly getting abused here. Go to sleep son. Tomorrow is yet another new day.

What rough day? I have seen things come and go and today was nothing. What matters is how you succeed year after year and generation after generation. If you do not get this then you do not understand what it means to be great.
My question to you is were you actually in Nashville today or just flapping your pixels on the internet? Being a fan means more than playing the internet tough guy when you team is on a streak.

Well lets see here. I traveled to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl and blew a couple thousand on that trip. I then went to New York to watch us run through the #1 conference in America on our way to back to back Big East titles. Another couple grand. Then proceeded to travel to all but ONE of our NCAA tournament games. Guess what...yet again...another couple grand. You know what? I'm freakin broke! When your a tri sport super power like us it gets pretty expensive, you know what I mean? Oh wait silly me. You're a Navy fan. You have no clue what the hell I'm talking about.

Im sorry but that quote was so powerful it just needs to be posted again for it to register.

Yes they said Thursday, SATURDAY, whenever. Does that register?
