Sorry, apparently Caps are used to get a point across around here.

The fans may have not showed up but the TV ratings sure did. Which is a surprise considering it was 30-10 going into the 4th quarter. Most would turn it off by then.

And some of us can get away with never leaving our home state for ooc games. Hate the game, not the player.

You were getting the games because you were an easy win and because Howard had pull. It was that effort that pulled you from the lower status to a higher one. Now you guys are in the position where you have risen up from where you were but have not risen far enough to warrant the next level game status. Why do you think conferences are going to 9 game schedules? It is because it is cheaper than paying the rising prices for traveling teams.

When low level schools that used to cost 250,000 for a game shoots to 750,000 or 1 million is it any wonder folks are not scheduling you? It is great that you have come up, but now you are in that spot where you are getting squeezed by thinking you are a player when you have not evolved the fan base to support it.

Do you see this at all? Do you understand the dynamic at work here? For a moment step outside of your Card fan dynamic and look at it from the view of a businessman working for ESPN or in a AD's office. Take that chip off your shoulder and look at just the money end.

Louisville sent 30K fans to the Sugar Bowl genius. They sent 35K to Miami for the Orange Bowl in 07.

It is not all just what you send genius. Sending lots of folks every 5 - 10 years is not the same as sending that number or more every year. It takes 2 sides to make the equation work and the numbers tell me having UL vs the Gators does not excite the Gator fans the same way FSU did back in 1997. There is a reason the SEC and B1G play so many bowl games against each other because both conferences have lots of fan demand for such games.

Ask the LSU fans on here that had to buy tickets to that game to get tickets to the game they really wanted to attend. You also realize the hate is so strong for the SEC that other schools will tune in to watch them lose. The ratings were not from your fans. Ask the UNC fans on here who tune in to watch Duke get beat. Ask the texas fans who tuned into TAMU last year hoping they would get thrashed in the first SEC year.

For a business guy you do not seem to understand business very well.

It's going to be funny when we fire Bianco and all it takes is one phone call to hire your legendary baseball coach away from y'all.

OMG I can't believe I missed all of this.

Go home Louisville your drunk!

We understand you finally hit puberty and had a growth spurt. You're doing really well in both football and basketball and that benefits the state. Just remember when the clock strikes midnight your fantasy will be over.

Sorry little brother.

This is why they are joining the ACC...and the fact that they dont bring any new markets.

Louisville doesn't have a resounding fan base, but it's an up and coming city.

I don't see that one happening since UL has shown the willingness to pony up for it's coaches.

You're making the assumption that money is everything. Your move to the ACC probably makes it more attractive for him to stay though. Bjork is a good AD though and I wouldn't underestimate him.

True, it will be interesting when other teams come after him harder each time.

Louisville will get a bump in media but is will be off set by tougher overall competition. Say Cards go 10-2 in the Big East gets translated to 8-4 in the ACC. Double edged sword on the recruiting side if you go from BCS games to bowls played between christmas and new years.

I can see a coach get vulnerable quickly at that point because you are viewed as a stepping stone job over final destination job. Sure money plays a part but great coaches are competitive and will want to be at the top.

No, let me help you out here...it's "you're"...not "your". Then you top it off with "interenets". There's only one internet. Is that like you're going to WalMarts or Krogers? See what we deal with $EC fans?
