Yep...an up and coming reporter is far more expendable than several hundred thousand in legal fees.

Because he used only one source, the kids mom, and several of his facts were provably wrong like when he claimed something went down at a party involving the Tejas football team when it was easily verified that they were in fact not even in town the date he claimed the party took place.

My girlfriend was a beat writer in the 1930's for AJC. She says most reporters need two sources before they publish anything.
