This morning Mike Elston, his longtime assistant and friend decided to stay at ND. OC Tommy Rees declined and surely DC and new ND coach Marcus Freeman probably would have declined...... Kelly also tried to lure RB coach Tony Alford from Ohio State and was declined... Not a good look.

I mean South Bend and Red Stick pretty different places.

Kelly probably looking for guys that are more familiar with recruiting in the south anyways

Notre Dame held their staff together by promoting Marcus Freeman. Not really surprising. Don't over react.

Let’s think about it, players don’t like him, his exit was sub par. Now none of the guys he hand picked will even consider following him. I’m just telling you, he isn’t liked.

You do realize that ND is probably more of a national brand than just about anyone.....

By most accounts he isn’t liked that well. Not really a surprise that if one of his guys was named HC then the rest wouldn’t want to remain at ND. It is Norte Dame.

If Kelly had come from Nebraska, Iowa St, West Virginia, etc. etc. and no one came that would be eyebrow raising. Staying at ND when a coordinator under Kelly go the job.,, no surprise at all.

Nothing here guy.

I am sure the ND staff had tons of inroads with high school coaches in LA...

The Volume has a player podcast for notre dame players. They all said they loved Kelly.

His exit was forced by the early signing period. Blame the NCAA.

His staff stayed because they promoted from within.
Be better. Your take is ridiculous. His player issues happened 6 years ago.

I tend to agree with you..... Elston is supposedly a good friend and has been with him since his Cincinnati days.... That's almost 15 years and he chose to stay at ND.... to me that speaks volumes.
