If it was UF wanting to do this, ease of location for both teams would be UGA's argument for not moving it. They pitched a fit when Auburn changed the date of the game, the date, but when they found out Vince did the same thing, when AD at UGA, "well, that was different".

I'm "slow" & you want us to believe that this site was chosen NOT ONLY for the fans, but the farthest distance in those 2 states?

& sorry, but 400 mi. vrs. 75 mi. IS NOT a "neutral site".

We pitched a fit because the date WAS NOT this issue. It was Aub.'s ENDLESS WHINING about playing UGA & Ala. both at home or away in the same year...which WOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED had the SEC NOT force UGA to do 2 years @ Aub. throwing off the rotation.

At least contribute by using FACTS.

Poor Auburn fan doesn’t want uga to get an extra rivalry home game every other year like auburn has. Might make recruiting even more difficult for y’all.

Which also applies to their bug mascot.

GnaTs

The bold letters are "GT" for Ga. Tech

& there's "Georgia North Ave. Trade School".

They could Switch the Georgia Georgia Tech game with Georgia being the home team odd years but Georgia Tech probably don’t want to do that because they would be @ Clemson and @ Georgia odd years

I think what they would do is 3 team switch home and away

Right, it had absolutely nothing to do with playing UGA/bama two out of the last three weeks of the season........then possibly playing in the SECCG the fourth week.

Keep proving my point. .

"In any event, the decision to move it is very understandable for me because I thought the toughest thing I ever had to do for Georgia was play our rivals, our two toughest rivals, Florida and Auburn, back to back," Dooley said. "I vowed that one day, when I became athletic director, that I was going to change that, which I have done."

I mean it's split 50/50, it's the very definition of neutral. Our team flies from athens straight to jacksonville then buses to their hotel. The total travel time for our team and theirs is relatively similar. The whining about "but the stadium is in florida!" is so ridiculous. NOBODY complained in the 70s and 80s when we were whipping their arse every year.

The reason for the locale is for the fans, not the teams. They picked a spot where fans from Florida and Georgia can all make the game without undue burden.

The reason the game is played in Jacksonville is financial. The Great Depression caused great hardship for Jacksonville merchants and for the tourist industry in South Georgia and the Florida coast. Jacksonville city officials convinced both schools to play the game there and shared gate proceeds evenly between the teams. Fans of both schools came for the week and made it an annual vacation. Local merchants and Florida and Georgia coastal vacation communities all benefit from the game week.

Yeah... completely agree... plus Jax pays for the travel expenses.

I don’t think it moves, The Schools will get an even bigger payday when it renews, CBS May even kick in more to keep it there as well. Plus, there is a lot of UGA alumni money in south GA, a move could impact that. I know that Kirby wants another recruiting home game; then don’t play the kickoff neutral site games. Or how bout this... since technically UGA is the away team for FL in odd years, just like it is for AU & GT. Either get the Auburn game fixed back.. or Play Tech twice in Atlanta or in 2020 at MBS as a home game for them to get them at home in odd years. But imo, Auburn got the game moved to earlier, let UGA get their home game back.

Its because AU benefited at UGA's expense in the 2013 season, and again with this move. That's a bit unfair dont ya think?

AU didnt play UGA and Bama back to back like UGA did with UF and AU. That week off in between a very relevant factor.

in my view it is kind a a cheat for certain teams to not be forced to play as many road games in conference as other teams.

Why? It's tradition to play the swamp rats at Halloween, Aub. in Nov., & the gnats @ Thanksgiving.

It was MORE about the location of those games than the date...which was NEVER brought up since 1992!

Who cares how people get there...a neutral site is located roughly in the middle of the 2 schools...which would be around Savannah.

Or look at it like this...move the game to Atlanta & make the swamp rats fly & the Dogs take a bus.

FYI, I know several people that have always disagreed on the location regardless of who won.
