Smart move. Georgia and Florida are at a major disadvantage having one fewer home game every other year than the rest of the teams in the conference. It should have been done years ago.
I didn't read the article so I don't know if this was mentioned, but I'm confident that this move is heavily driven by recruiting and wanting that extra big time home game in which you can have recruits on campus. Kirby realizes this and it's why this move is about to be made now.

Why would you stay in Jax for this game
Jax is fine if you know the right places and most Dawg fans stay there.

I would be very upset...this is easily the best weekend of the college football season every year because of the neutral site.

I don't think people realize that this would be just another SEC game if it was moved out of Jacksonville. Jax's extremely relaxed drinking laws during that week are also a huge factor. Someone is going to take some holy high ground about that statement but it's true.

I generally think most teams should have one permanent neutral site game, with this being a perfect example to aspire to. The momentum swings in a true neutral site rivalry game are so awesome, I don’t know why so many college football fans are against them.
It will be sad to see it go.

I think it should stay, but this isn’t really true. It would still be a huge game. It would still be a big rivalry game between two big, competitive programs.

North Texas would love to host...

I've never heard one Florida fan say they want the game moved. The only reason it's an issue now is because of kirby. He thinks he's the next Saban.

Would be a huge mistake, IMO. Even though I know many Aggy fans are clamoring for it to end, and I don’t expect the contract to be renewed, it would be a huge mistake.
Arkansas is going to be playing a game there every year anyway, so instead of it being against TCU or Tech, allowing the Big 12 a stage to beat up on the SEC West’s version of the ultimate little brother, the SEC gets a permanent fixture. If Arkansas loses to A&M, it’s just to be expected and doesn’t say anything. If Arkansas loses to Texas Tech, it’s a slap in the face.
Having rotating opponents in and out destroys the allure as well. Does anyone care about all the times Alabama played some non-conference game there? No. It’s boring. Neutral site games should be somewhat regional so you get as close to that 50/50 split as possible and fan bases don’t get fatigue.
But again, it will undoubtedly switch to a home and home. A mistake, largely due to Houston’s envy of all things Dallas and the Cowboys, but one that I hope is eventually reversed.

Yeah, Saban has always wanted to move the WLOCP out of Jacksonville. Kirby’s clearly just copying him on this.

You should have been around in the '70's and '80's...that's ALL everyone heard from Florida fans was the idea of moving it to an home&home.
Spurrier himself has been hearing some Florida fans calling for it to be moved.

Why would Arkansas fans want this? If that’s the case, you’ll still play a neutral site game at Jerry World, and it will be against a less intriguing program like Texas Tech. Or worse yet, all your big time OOC games(if you ever get the courage to start scheduling them) will start to shift there.
Imagine scheduling a series with UCLA, and having to have the game at Jerry World and not on campus because Arkansas needs to sell tickets to meet its Jerry World obligation and Arkansas/Baylor just won’t cut it.
Arkansas’s best case scenario is that your obligation to Jerry World is filled with a conference staple so that game isn’t diminished with random opponents and your out of conference scheduling has maximum potential for home and homes.

You're another Floridiot tit-brain just out of diapers...SPURRIER IS QUOTED HIMSELF AS SAYING BEFORE 1990, GAYTURD FANS WANTED TO MOVE THE GAME!!
Throughout the 1970's and '80's, Gayturds EVERYWHERE wanted the game moved then.
Did you even READ the article, or this a serious handicap not within your abilities?

At this point, your schtick is getting old. I don't know this specific poster, and their style doesn't make me think of another specific poster from the past... if YOU have a strong opinion that they're an alter, why not call them out specifically. If not, why douche up another thread with senseless accusations of "alter" with zero substance.
This specific poster actually brought a reasonably decent discussion to a board that is woefully lacking in that area... Doesn't mean they'll always be a good poster, but it at least warrants not taking a shite in your pants and dropping them in the middle of a decent discussion.

You're only disagreeing with me because he's a UG fan.
We both know the WLOCP isn't going anywhere. So no, it's not a reasonably decent discussion.

I'm disagreeing with you because your comment is pointless... If you have a specific accusation, go for it. If you don't what the frick is the value in clogging up threads with multiple finger pointing comments? I *noticed* it because it's in a thread that I'm in. I don't run head first into every thread about Vandy or LSU... I usually at least read through things that have to do with UGA. If I notice you doing it in another thread where it seems unwarranted, I'll make sure to call it out there too.

We both know it *shouldn't* go anywhere... but I'm not 100% certain that there is no chance it moves...

Sure it is... you might not be contributing to it, but many other posters are.
