I'm still smh over Starbucks & bottled water success.. I've paid premiums for golf courses, concerts, VIP access to events that were "lifetime bucket list" checkoffs, coffee? Naw. I'm good.

Starbucks may be the greatest scam ever. Bottled water was inevitable when the drunk driving thing got going in the early 80's. Before that the DD was comped for water or OJ (no free soda tho) to get the drunks home. I guess those MBA's saw all that "free water" and monitized it.

I know it seems like this is a relevant topic today but from memory I can tell you the longhorns thought A&M was making a huge mistake moving to the SEC. The horns were looking at potentially joining the PAC 12 but had no desire to jump into the SEC meat grinder. A&M was constantly reminded we'd be the bottom feeders in our new conference and our relevancy would only diminish to new lows.
The short of it is, Texas wanted no part of the SEC at least during the 2010-2011 realignment talks. They may have changed their stance now that they've seen the recruiting impacts and other perks that A&M has realized from being in this conference.
Never mind any culture fit discussions.
