Auburn is the one who has been playing ineligible players, not MSU.

Ok I just don't understand why people are so sure Auburn paid and MSU didn't. Besides Bond saying they are "cleaning their hands of this" (which is sketch as hell) what does MSU have PROVING they didn't pay what Cecil asked? Can we keep them in the same boat as Auburn not see them as MSU and give them a pass?

Not only can I keep them in the same boat, but I am putting them in the mother ship since their name comes up in pay for play than Auburns...Just saying

Auburn may not have paid, but once Cecil asked for money on his son's behalf, he became ineligible.

If you are saying Auburn didn't pay, then it is obvious MSU didn't or he would be there right now.

Is it that big of a stretch that they both paid and Auburn paid more so he went there or is that off of the table?

Serious question, I really haven't even found anything written on what came out today... My buddy just gave me a quick rundown. I looked through the first 3 pages on the SEC rant.

Considering that would mean that MSU turned themselves in on a rules violation, yeah I would say that is a pretty big stretch.

Because Cam signed elsewhere? Because MSU reported the request for payment to the NCAA? Because a coach is quoted as saying 'no no I don't want to hear that' when Cecil said he wanted money?

I'm having a very hard time seeing how MSU gets pinged on any of this, especially given NCAA precedent of these kind of cases (the dude that was shopped around by his high school coach and signed with Bama...Means sp?...none of the other colleges who offered cash for him were sanctioned by the NCAA).

And DO schools pay in advance in these cases? I mean, how fricking dumb would a school be to pay someone *before* they sign?

Besides the whole payment plan by MSU...

Except for the fact that the whole payment plan idea came from the Newton camp.

Ok, I think Aub is in trouble, but I'm still not so sure that State gets off unscathed. Does it bother anyone else that when the State coach was approached for money he said something along the lines of "no, no I don't want to hear that" ... and shortly thereafter Cecil and company have the name and phone number of a wealthy State alum who is willing to hear them out on the details of a payment plan? I would feel much better about State's position if the coach was quoted as saying something more along the lines of "no, no we don't do that."

My question is, if this happened why did it take Bond to report the incident to the MSU athletic department?

If the coaches heard Newton ask for this, should they not have sent it on up the chain of command?

The culpability lies in the fact that Cam Newton is on the field in a War Chicken uniform. He's the highest paid college FB player, and he's about to be found out, along with a Univeristy full of ostriches who've run out of sand! Au is going down for knowingly playing an ineligible player. Toast! Frickaseed War Chicken! Memorial flowers can be sent to Trailer 9 in the A+ Trailer Park at 180000 Screwed Lane, Auburnt, AL
