So you are saying you have never seen a coach change announcement affect a game?

This is just retarded. Baseball fans watching the game tonight don't give a shite who texsa is firing nor does it dimish the game for them in any way.

No, retarded is not being able to understand that coach change announcements right before big games HAVE had an effect on games in the past. So you reflect poorly upon yourself to make the comment at all.

Look, Sybil, the only person reflecting poorly on themselves here is you and your loony conspiracies. You are one mindfricked little pup.

potentially damage the game for all college baseball fans.

That’s pretty dramatic. I wouldn’t have given it a second thought as an outside observer.

If Texas during their baseball coach had an effect on your players, then that’s on your players. If your head coach announced he was leaving today, you’d have a point. This is such a reach it’s stupid.

Can you reference a coach firing for one school being announced and it impacting a game involving two different teams?

I have, but college baseball doesn’t have the media circles that CFB does. This isn’t going to be the main theme in the park tonight.

ETA: and as of now, nobody is leaving.

Very disrespectful of Texas to announce this the morning of the championship game.

Since both coaches have been rumored as candidates at tu this could be a first.

So, yes, an average football fan watching that game would think it was odd timing for Utx to announce the hiring of their new football coach at 9:30 pm on a Saturday night during a bowl game in which their former in state rivals were playing against their former head coach.
The Herman departure / Sark hire was announced by the college gameday crew well before that game kicked off.

Why are we acting like a covid orange bowl where the aggies played a 4-loss UNC that sat out half of their team was some groundbreaking event?

Also, how would Texas have known a&m was going to lose game 2 on Sunday? Wouldn't they have announced then since it was possible a&m could've clinched the national title in that game?

So, rumor has it that Texas announcing they were firing Pierce on Monday is tied to Pierce leaking the story to Bohls who just left the Austin Paper to be his first story at the Houston Chronicle. Once Bohls called asking for a statement, Texas was forced to announce it on Monday vs waiting to do it on Tuesday.

Not really a shock if that is how it went down knowing how Bohls relationship is with the UT AD and how Peirce does not think it was justified that he got chastised by UT's HR after the season or pushed out in general.

We couldn’t offer the job until we released the current coach, and we waited until our guy was free to leave his current position to accept ours. I only heard the open Texas job once during last night’s broadcast. ESPN didn’t find it particularly newsworthy.
