I remember back when Auburn would recruit Georgia and Florida well. The only Georgia recruit is from Columbus (basically the Opelika metro area) and is the 60th ranked recruit in Georgia.
That giant arse Kiwi lineman they signed was only offered by Auburn, FSU, USF, and....
Sacramento State.
Total disaster. If Freeze can't recruit, there's no reason to hire/retain him. That's the no. 1 reason you hire that guy.

In all fairness, Hugh is doing well in the portal with players who can contribute immediately. They’re ranked 8th in the year in which they must make a bowl game.

Auburn’s signed back to back top 10 classes and has a ton of money to throw around. With the uncertainty of the new revenue sharing it doesn’t mean much to have guys committed right now. We aren’t giving firm numbers to players right now.
December will be a different story.

They just got 5 star safety Jacoby Mathews. LSU sounded pretty confident he was going to transfer to them, but looks like Auburn swept in for him.
Exactly. We are waiting to give big money contracts to the 2026 class until the revenue sharing numbers are finalized.
Congrats to all the schools on having players committed in July.

Yea guys. The Auburn athletic department has it figured out and is ahead of the curve on literally everyone else. Just another example of the Auburn AD being a trailblazer in collegiate athletics
Just wait until they win 8 games and start flipping kids from programs winning 10-12. Auburn is a good salt of the earth Christian family. They wouldn’t lie to a recruit, that might undermine their stability on the moral high ground

Do they still do the Big Scat Weekend with talent from Atlanta?

Auburn will always be that program that no one really cares about and will always be little brother to Bama. Hugh Freeze fits that role perfectly.
Football yes - but AU is the vastly superior institution in AL overall… ranks 60-70 spots higher in most academic rankings and generated $6bn in economic impact in AL vs Uat ($2.95bn) in 2023 - also superior in basketball, baseball, golf, Olympics, etc…even UAB is superior to Uat in many categories…so bama is AUs and UABs little brother, actually… besides we will always have some good years and be the spoiler and play for some titles…but bama only has football and needs to win every year!

Recruiting in July is irrelevant. If he loses this season then the recruits would leave anyways and if he wins players will start jumping on board.
This. And I think we’re keeping our powder dry. At least I hope we are.

Besides, many current commits and future signees will end up in the portal anyway…

Show me the math. Because a quick google search seems to show two different accounting methods. Auburn is using the university’s impact plus the impact of all graduates in the state. The Alabama figure is only showing the impact of the university.

Auburn writer reports Auburn coach and AD are doing things the "right" way.
Welp. Guess the rest of us should close up shop.
Game is over.
Justin Hokanson just told us so.
