The fake punt may have been a good play, but I think it was a terrible decision at that point. Saban knew it was coming, because we've run so many of them lately, and that's one reason why I think it was a poor decision.
We could have punted and had Alabama backed up to their goal line, where another turnover could have put Arkansas back on top. Had the fake punt worked, we just would have reached midfield and still had another 50 yards to go.
It was also a sign that we were desperate, but it was too early to be that desperate. Still, we got beat fair and square.

That was not long after Bama retook the lead. I remember watching and realizing that Bielema had panicked, which is exactly how you guarantee a loss to a Saban team. He prepares them precisely for the moment the other team realizes they they're being slowly overwhelmed and then they hit the other team hard. Bielema screwed up, not because he called a fake punt (though the 4th and 1 earlier would have been a better time) but because he allowed himself to start worrying that Bama was about to go on a tear.
