Locks for the playoff and where the SEC stands...

Looking at what is left it appears there are basically 4 locks to make the playoff:
OSU, A@M, Indiana and Georgia.
As far as controlling your own destiny with the SEC teams it's:
Ole Miss and Bama only I think because I think Bama will be in the SECCG if they win out while OK wont. OK is close to a lock if they win out though.
Vandy is still in play also.
MI and Southern Cal can throw a wrench into the final teams in the playoff if they were to win games against OSU and Oregon. GT could also get a spot by beating GA even if they aren't the ACC champion.

Vandy would need to beat TN and some teams ahead of them to lose. Posssible but unlikely

Yep its crazy a 2 loss SEC team could get left out but the lower half of the SEC played pretty bad this season.

Ole Miss will end up at 5-6

If Bama wins the SEC, Oklahoma could get left out even if we go undefeated the rest of the year and end up 10-2 with both losses in conference.
This is a nightmare scenario but is a very real possibility with a concerningly high percentage of actually happening.

If Oklahoma wins out they're in.

Not 100%. If Bama wins the SEC they could be left out depending on things in other conferences.

In the event Bama makes it to the SECG and wins, they will host a 1st round game imo.

I mean yeah I get that but if they win out who is passing them? I mean the spot MIGHT change around but I dont see a real threat. What are you seeing?

Lol, they aren’t getting left out as conference champs.

Ohio State, Indiana and Texas A&M are the locks
Georgia has to beat Georgia Tech, so most likely a lock...
Ole Miss has to beat Miss St.
Alabama has to beat Auburn, and hope 1 of Michigan or USC loses another game
I think Vandy has peaked out and has no shot. I expect them to get jumped by Miami soon

If Alabama goes 11-2 and win the SEC, they’re getting a top four seed.

conference champs are still in
If Alabama wins out, they are definitely in.

Thats what I keep saying. I'm not understanding some of the reasoning here.

Who would be the byes in that scenario? Assuming you’d give the Big 10 Conference winner and runner up plus UGA and A&M, both of who Alabama would have beaten?
ETA: the “they” in both of these posts means OU I think.

That is talking about OK being left out possibly if Bama wins the SEC.
