My best friend grew up 5 doors down from Darius. The few times he returns to the old hood, they remind him that his fame and fortune doesn’t mean jack squat there! He’s Darius.

Darius wasn't Hootie. Hootie I think was the drummer or something.

basically "Hootie" didn't exist, but was a nickname formed around the idea of two of their friend's nicknames? Something like that
