Skenes 100% goes game one. He’s on full rest.

It would be weird ... but can he throw in relief ?

Look - I obviously think LSU is very, very good. The best play is probably just start Skenes Game 1, then whomever Game 2.

Watching Kentucky - it's an odd team. Momentum is a big, big deal. It's crazy, the idea of sitting Skenes early when he's rolling, and he'll roll Game 1. No doubt.

But could he ? Could he sit after four or so innings, and throw middle relief ?

Skenes has never pitched more than once in a weekend so doubt that happen unless gets pulled for a rain delay. I saw Stanford Friday guy threw 115 pitches then threw 4 innings to close out AM yesterday. Tanner hall at usm pitched Friday and started 2 innings yesterday so it happens but not on 1 day rest

I’m genuinely concerned about UK and the ppl thinking we will roll are crazy. Uk had 7 hits and 5 runs on Skenes. P sure that’s the most a team has scores on him

We're a very pesky team. Y'all are a good team.

Sometimes pesky beats good. but IDK.

We're probably in a happy-to-be-here phase.

That is really the secret sauce with this team. They get more runs, for less hits, that anyone I've seen in quite some time. It's odd to watch. The had more runs than hits to close out against IU. The Hoosiers absolutely out-hit them.

I think LSU can dominate, but this is the odd part. They'll have to dial back a bit, and just concentrate on fundamentals. Have they show the ability to do that this year ?

This is how we beat teams. Our style of play makes it hard if you can't simply do the routine plays.

Uk is 2nd behind lsu in batting average but bottom 3 in runs scored so it’ll be important to get the lead off runner out

Our defense was average to below average at times in league play but they actually played much better last few weekends. Tommy white has to be ready for the bunts. I was at the first 2 UK games and they are super impressive defensively. They converted SEVEN double plays and none of them were easy but they made them look effortless

The kid that closed out Indiana , moore? He hasn’t given up a run in his last few outing. He’s solid

Edit. LSU has made the easy plays look extremely difficult at times and that part of the game worries me. If our offense is clicking like it did last weekend I think we will win the series 2-1

Well, we were able to win the series against yall once, I don't see why we couldn't do it again. Ya'll were indeed a tough out, but we shall see. The one thing we were still working on was our pitching when we first met, but now we sort of got it figured out. Hopefully, it will not be as close as it was when we first met.

It's not a series, 2 wins and you advance.

If LSUs bats are thumping ? Yeah. I agree. Cajuns to Omaha.

Styles make fights, right ? I think Kentucky can drop Game 1 - but they have to be in it. If they get blitzed Game 1 ? Weekend over. If they are battling ? I can see them taking Game 2 - and then talent just winning Game 3.

Do they? Not a flame I’m just genuinely curious because where they rank in batting average and runs scored in the SEC says otherwise.

It's an odd stat. When they roll .. the stats roll. Just look at the regional. A nail biter against Ball State - then they piss one away close to Indiana. Then they Ten Run two teams. So in the final ? Another nail biter.

It's never a five run win with this team. Either a blow-out, or winning run at the plate with this bunch.

One thing I like is that our pitching outside of Skenes has seemed to turn it up a notch this post season. Not sure if it’s because of the non-SEC umpires or the change of philosophy in pitching.

It will be interesting to see how game 1 goes. If Skenes goes deep and we are up big enough to save Hurd, I really like our chances. The double tap of Floyd and Hurd for game 2 would be a massive advantage.

I honestly think the best way to beat Kentucky starts at the mound - obviously. Old school knuckleball pitchers would screw this lineup.

A Greg Maddux approach. I think that's part of how Kentucky scores. Because college kids have too much ego to simply keep it low and let the defense work.
