Well, it's 9 pages long. Apparently people did want to talk about Kentucky football.

You must really not know shite about the NFL.

I am guessing college football as well. Either they are trolling hard or they really believe Mizzou football = Alabama football even tho they lack history of winning at the elite level and even tho the state of Missouri does not produce football talent at the same rate or level as LA, AL, GA, and FL. Fan passion is great but some of the fans are Jim Jones level of kool aid consumption.

And your Jim Jones level of KoolAid consumption is focused on downing Mizzou. Not even our resident trolls have opined that Mizzou is an Alabama. Get some introspective abilities about your Mizzou obsession. It's really out of control.

If you think Tim Couch wasn't going to be a good pro player because of his play in college or skill set, well, you're just not very good at this whole trolling thing.

Belle, would like access to the Kentucky board. Definitely not a troll, and certainly not with Kentucky. Great respect for your basketball program. What's the chances?

Much better than most of the Mizzou fans in this thread.

Yes because it had absolutely nothing to do with a non-existent line in Cleveland that physically wrecked him.

Gabbert had some issues when he came out, but I think his biggest problem was being drafted by Jacksonville.

Btw Belle, do I need to start a thread on the Help Board to "officially" ask for access? Not a prob if I have to, just never asked for access to any other fanbase board so quick guidance please.

Couch got jobbed pretty bad. Cleveland pretty well hung their hopes on Couch alone and didn't bother to try to put anything around him, especially on the line. He spent good majority of his career there injured and then ended up hooked on painkillers as a result. Still managed to take them to the playoffs where he broke his leg and then ended up in a QB controversy when Holcomb came in. He tried to come back in '04 with the Packers and tore his rotator cuff in his throwing arm.

Yet he's still winning because he married a Playmate of the Year.

Nope, I put you up in our thread where we discuss who does/doesn't get access. Each board does it differently though so if you're asking for anyone else you may need to ask in the Team Forum thread stickied on the Help Board.

I worded that poorly, I meant asking to get on anyone else's board. Sorry.

I have never said that Missouri produces talent to the level of those states.

You imply it when you imply that Mizzou can lock down their state. Fineally in the last post you open up the issue I have been bringing up.

quote:

There are circumstances that dictate a kids decision, such as can I play right away, who is the position coach, does the scheme and style of play fit into what I bring to the table, do I have family from that school or living near that school, will we win, etc..

Except you put the "will we win" at the very end when in reality it probably should be at the front. Schools that win are pulling your top talent and they will continue to do so in significant numbers until Mizzou wins at the elite level and displaces the elite teams that reside there now. This is the SEC and winning the division or SEC CCG pales in comparison to winning the MNC.

quote:

But the point of all this is that you cannot compare Kentucky to Mizzou as far as like recruiting in state. Kentucky has Louisville to deal with as well as Cincinnati very close.

Look at the data from above, if it helps I will make it a bit more easy to view where folks stand. Look who is right next to KY, it is MO!

#3 Per capita FBS recruits by state (2008-2013)
01 : LA : 1.83 : x2.44 : (SEC)
02 : AL : 1.75 : x2.33 : (SEC)
03 : FL : 1.69 : x2.25 : (SEC)
04 : GA : 1.62 : x2.16 : (SEC)
05 : HI
06 : DC
07 : MS : 1.42 : x1.89 : (SEC)
08 : TX : 1.41 : x1.88 : (SEC)
09 : OH : 1.31 : x1.75 : (B1G)
10 : OK : 0.99 : x1.32 : (B12)
11 : UT
12 : SC : 0.82 : x1.09 : (SEC)
13 : AR : 0.78 : x1.03 : (SEC)
******** AVERAGE FOR USA ********
14 : MD : 0.69 : x0.92 : (B1G)
15 : TN : 0.66 : x0.88 : (SEC)
16 : VA : 0.65 : x0.86 : (ACC)
17 : CA
18 : NC : 0.62 : x0.83 : (ACC)
19 : MI : 0.61 : x0.81 : (B1G)
20 : IN : 0.56 : x0.75 : (B1G)
21 : KS : 0.55 : 0.74x : (B12)
22 : NJ : 0.53 : 0.71x : (B1G)
23 : PA : 0.53 : x0.71 : (B1G)
24 : DE
25 : AZ
26 : NV
27 : IL : 0.49 : x0.65 : (B1G)
28 : CO
29 : ID
30 : MO : 0.40 : x0.53 : Missouri (SEC)
31 : KY : 0.38 : x0.51 : Kentucky (SEC)

LA, AL, FL, GA, MS, TX,SC, and AR are all in the Top 15

MO and KY are almost double the distance down the list in the Top 30 range. Therefore, Mizzou is more like Kentucky than they would like to admit and folks get all bent out of shape about it. Nobody is not saying Mizzou is having a great season but where you and I separate is that I think it is an anomaly and you think it is the norm. You may be right, but probability and data suggests you are wrong in the long term.
