Let's say SEC does want to enforce the "rules"

What rule set? NCAA?
What's the structure? Appeals process, notice of allegation process etc?
How many staff will they have to investigate?
Does this mean all TRO players are out?
The SEC is completely unprepared to take this task on

They’re going to seriously enforce them as soon as they finish reading them to greg.

The conference isn't enforcing the rules they already have on the books, they don't have the framework or infrastructure to do so.
Their "investigations" are limited to reading news articles and Twitter.
They're just shooting from the hip and hoping something sticks.

Don't kid yourself. It's a real lawsuit.

Real, in the sense that it exists.
Not in the sense that it's actually going to accomplish anything.

I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that this lawsuit won't accomplish anything, it's just posturing.
I have no clue what will happen outside of the lawsuit though.

Just a few months ago you were getting pro players and dragging your nuts across Sankeys face and there was nothing that could prevent LSU from getting those players.
Then the SEC filed the lawsuit, LSU caves and doesn't roster them and now the story is - well it's not a legit lawsuit even though LSU is caving and the SEC is just embarrassing themselves.
It's already accomplished multiple things.

I've never said any of those things. You must have me confused with someone who trolled you.

LSU was never going to roster the players after the CFP committee said they would keep them out of the playoff, and once the financial penalties were revealed. Too big of a risk with no reward.
The lawsuit changed nothing. Read it, it's worthless. It's a shot in the dark by the SEC that doesn't accomplish anything.

Hmm so Lane and Wade were just trolling?
That's a good way to offer up good will to the conference

This is the only thing that sucked about Kiffin losing. Now that the season is practically over, all you all are gonna wanna talk about is this.

Now that's funny !
Using quotation marks around an unfamiliar or foreign word often serves to show that the term is newly introduced, translated, or being treated with hesitation.
"rules"
You clever Louisiana folks kill me !

One can't simultaneously bemoan the destruction of college athletics while also clamoring for no regulation and restrictions without some serious mental gymnastics. We can either watch CFB further eroded or we can call for some regulation. The latter may happen but the courts are going to strike any attempt to regulate down....LSU bent the knee and did not force the issue but the attempt to do so was real....anyone saying otherwise is just willfully lying. The conference is attempting to regulate. They will fail and CFB will become more and more untenable until the Universities step in and do away with it in in any meaningful fashion. They may play actual students with no scholarships against other schools doing the same but the current model is headed toward the rubbage bin of history and doing so right smartly....

It is going to accomplish something....and that something is the slow realization that there is no limit to eligibility to play college football that the courts will accept. Texas Tech and LSU are going to look like school girls compared to the shite we are about to see happening as far as eligibility goes in CFB, basketball and baseball. when Texas Tech intended to play a degenerate gambler the writing was on the wall....they didn't but the next time someone will....because the courts are going to rule against any regulation whatsoever.

LSU thought they didn’t have to listen to Daddy. Govna thought he was above the rules, and Lane figured having Govna in his pocket meant he didn’t have to listen either.
Then Daddy took off his belt. Now LSU is back in its room, slamming doors and throwing a fit about being in timeout.
Daddy’s response? “If you don’t like my rules, there’s the f’ing door.”

The lawsuit didn't do any of that. The lawsuit is meaningless.
There was no reason for LSU to give up on those two players. But, LSU made the decision to stand down. The SEC was openly threatening expulsion. There supposedly was going to be a vote. It's all anyone was talking about. The season was about to start. And, LSU was reaching the deadline of having to submit its rosters without any real resolution to the eligibility angle (Note: this was different than how every other TRO had been handled up to that point).
THAT'S what made LSU decide it wasn't worth it. It wasn't the lawsuit.
But, that's also the problem with giving an inch. The other side wants to take a mile. And, that's what's happening. The SEC wrongfully (like you) assumed the lawsuit was powerful. It is trying to flex those same muscles and get LSU to cower and admit wrongdoing and actually take punishment.
That isn't going to happen. In fact, instead of doing that, Louisiana simply filed a simple legal response pointing out the weakness and problems with the lawsuit.
The SEC is now floundering because it knows the lawsuit is garbage...it knows there's no chance its members will vote to expel LSU...and it now realizes that LSU and certainly the State of Louisiana not only isn't afraid but is willing to expose the SEC during this legal process.
This might be a bit of a culture thing. In Louisiana, people don't get scared of lawsuits. Louisiana politicians certainly don't. If anything, they get energized by the idea.
The SEC naming the Louisiana AG in the suit might go down as the single dumbest legal decision ever. If that woman decides to move forward against the SEC in an aggressive manner, it's going to be bloodshed.

What LSU did is no different than what many other schools have done. Anyone saying otherwise is just willfully lying.
