So I guess the Pats should've gotten a Lombardi in 07 as well since they had already beaten the Giants on the road?

the list of national champions that 07 LSU would beat is very short.

You could say that about any champion, but it really doesn't matter. LSU had a great resume that year and was the most accomplished team in the nation. LSU definitely should have beaten Arkansas, but at the time, Kentucky really wasn't that horrible of a loss. People forget how good Andre Woodson was.

Just sticking to the BCS winners:

98 Tennessee yes
99 Florida State no
00 Oklahoma yes
01 Miami no
02 Ohio State yes
03 LSU yes
04 USC no
05 Texas no
06 Florida yes
08 Florida no
09 Alabama yes
10 Auburn no
11 Alabama no
12 Alabama yes
13 Florida State no

Edit: I'm talking about a healthy 07 LSU, keyword healthy.

Are you saying the 2007 LSU team would beat the 2003 team?

It's all very speculative, obviously, but I'd probably put money on the '07 team.

03 LSU lost @ home by double digits to Zook and a true frosh making his first start.

I would take '03. Saban had them playing at another level after the UF loss.

The Best two resumes played each other and Bama won when it mattered most. Definitely deserving.

With that kind of logic, LSU was just as deserving in 2007 as Bama was in 2011.

ie, they won the game, therefore they deserved to be there.

The '07 team lost @ home to a 6-6 Arky team with Casey Dick at the helm. Oh yeah, and Houston Nutt was the coach.

With their best player hurt and second best defensive player suspended.

Edit: Arky was 8-5 and Houston Nutt > Zook.

i think if you look back honestly Oklahoma in 2003, and in 2004 are probably he least deserving to be in the BCS game. Probably the only 2 years it didn't workout.

At least 2011 Alabama justified being in the game. Even though i don't think they should have been in it, you can't really argue the results.

Oklahoma shouldn't have been in it and they lost.

I still can't believe how they got manhandled by Kansas State.

Edit: Disagree with 04 though. They started out at #2 and shut down Vince Young.

The loss to UK? Your entire argument is based on one loss for the '03 LSU team. That's a bit ridiculous.

Yeah I was wrong. 2007 Arky, 2007 UK and 2003 UF were all 8-5.
