Whatever it is, I know this - he will be rumored to either Ohio State or the NFL the season after taking the job in Florida.

The man is what he is. He’s committed to the next opportunity.

think you'd have to get above $14m with an excessive amount of it guaranteed.

Mississippi income tax is 4.4% which equates to roughly 600,000 per year on a $13.5m deal that Florida has the benefit of not worrying about

Yep... he's been looking for the next opportunity for 6 long years because he's so unhappy at Ole Miss and hates Oxford so much. That's why none of his family lives there and he skedaddles during the off season.

I feel bad for Florida. They still think it’s a premier job and it’s simply not anymore.

The cost of living in the Gainsville area is way more than in the Oxford area. 4.4% isn’t going to offset that.

PayScale.com says 15M in Oxford is equal to 18.5M in Gainsville.
That means the Gators are going to have to go 19% higher on their offer just to break even.

I think we can remove Kiffin from the Florida short list:

Stricklin will be solely responsible in 'very thorough process' picking Florida's next coach

He'll rock the boat too much for Stricklin

I 100% agree. I’ve been telling the gators that Strickland and Kiffin hate each other for a long time.

I was just also pointing out that the 12 team playoff makes it really hard for a team in Austin or Gainesville to steal a coach away from Oxford or Auburn now. You can now win a championship at almost any SEC school(I won’t believe Vandy USCe or Kentucky can until I see it happen.) So, a school with a lower cost of living has a much better chance of keeping their coach. Hell I’ll come out and say it. Ole Miss is a better job than Florida now when the money is even.
