Why would I not presume that

Kiffin didn't elevate Ole Miss recruiting.

Ole Miss classes:

2025: #16 - and mostly that high because he had 53 recruits. His average recruit was 19th.

2024: #17 - 48 recruits, average 22nd

2023: #17 - 39 recruits, average 19th.

2022: #15 - 38 recruits, average 19th.

10 years ago:

2016: #5 - 26 recruits, average 5th

2015: #17 - 22 recruits, average 16th

2014: #15 - 27 recruits, avreage 19th

LSU is 12th with half the recruits of everyone not named Oregon. Look at the average player rating, we are 2nd to that team named Oregon.

He was head coach at USC and Tennessee. What makes you think this will be any different?

He had a good 1 year at UT in a rebuild situation and USC was just a weird stint. Since then, he's gone to Saban rehab and learned how to run a program, turned FAU around in dramatic fashion, gotten sober and healthy, and brought Ole Miss the best regular season run of it's history.

I think the odds are we will do pretty damn well under his leadership.

I do think he bolts for the NFL in a 4-5 years though.

But fair enough

I post about everyone. You can probably go back a few years and find me telling Ole Miss fans all this would happen one day.

He went 7-6 at Tennessee. They had hope because the Alabama game was close and came down to the blocked FG.

He's already been an NFL coach. He is considered one of the worst NFL coaches in history.

I mean the way college football is now, you can have a team competing for playoffs year one depending on the NIL dump.

This is the least surprising things ever. You and about 99% of your fan base have been fans less than 25 years.

As a result, you have a warped understanding of history.

It was a rebuild situation before NIL/portal, that takes time. Saban went 7-6 his first year at Bama with a loss to ULM, but everyone knew it was trending up. Not comparing him to Saban, point is just that you can't just look at the record. There's a bigger picture there. There is a reason UT fans didn't want him to leave.

He was in his 30s and they forced Jamarcus Russell on him.

And since then he's grown a ton and shown that at FAU and Ole Miss. NFL also loves second chances and right now loves young, offensive gurus.

That's right.

Congrats on being an old geezer, waiting by the tube to see how the Nebraska-Colorado game turns out before making your bowl plans.

Nothing in this world is certain. Especially when it comes to Lane.

Right. He worked the shite out of the portal.

Saban confided in him what he could do with recruiting while at LSU and that would elevate his success.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

LSU usually recruits well in general, so I'm sure it's not going to be terrible. But Kiffin himself isn't likely to bring great improvement.

He's known to be somewhat awkward. So NIL is probably a bit of a blessing for him.

I've been watching Kiffin since he was HC at Oakland. I use to live in the Bay Area and went to some of those games.

Overall I figure you'll probably remain about where you are now, in the 5-10 range most years. Maybe a little success and hype could improve things, but I'd be surprised at any boost.
