Tom Osbourne got Cali guys and Texas guys. Plus he got the best from the surrounding states

Meh. Sure, he got some.

But the Proposition 48 partial qualifier and non-qualifier loophole is what really pushed Nebraska from good to great under Osborne.

Yes. When the Big 12 formed, they were outvoted 11-1 to ban partial qualifiers.

frick them. I grew up in NW MO an hour from Omaha and about the same to Lincoln. Got TV from Omaha growing up in the 70’s and 80’s. The fans were insufferable and fake nice. Really hate them worse the kU personally.

I was fortunate enough to work with two guys who were at Nebraska during their great run in the 1990s. Both are PhD exercise physiologists. Today, one is at UCF and one is a dean at UTEP. Both talked about how Nebraska was getting creatine from Europe while it was still banned by the FDA in the states.

Both guys talked about what a genius Boyd Epley was (Nebraska strength coach) in terms of keeping Nebraska ahead of the game.

Interestingly, just like what happened in the '80s when everybody else started using sterioids... the FDA approved the sale of creatine and everybody else started using it. Nebraska came back to the pack because they no longer had advantages in the trenches.

I know what you’re saying. It’s just the beatdown that they gave the gators must still be reverberating’ in the swamp. Tommie Frazier scored again
