What year was this?

Again, you're one person. We know what the majority of the fan base thinks. What percent of the fans in the Swamp that spend thousands every year attending football games even bother to turn on their TV and watch college tennis, track and field, golf, gymnastics, swimming and diving, etc.

Like most things, the wallet answers the question.

If I had to choose between a Natty next year in football or a Natty in every other sport next year, I'd pick all the other sports. Especially with how bad our Men's basketball has been.

Nonsense. Many of those sports exist due to the govt forcing schools to have them, not because anyone actually wanted them. Football pays for those sports because it's what's important.

Again, you're one person and you're on here talking about other sports besides football when those sports are played.

We're arguing circles are square here.

I enjoy women's softball. Especially when my niece played and was all conference. I think it's great that we have these sports. Can't speak for who you are responding to, but just saying I wasn't arguing they are meaningless. But they are to a good portion of the fanbase. Even those that spend a ton of money on football. Again, this isn't news.

Is this the first time the SEC has won the Director's Cup?

He's a UGA fan who once told me that "no one cares" about college basketball. In March.

Depends on what you want out of the AD. You and I would prefer most going to football since we place so much on that game.
Director's cup matters to a lot of people. I'm not one of them but I'm probably in the minority.
Outside of Football and Baseball I don't give a rat's arse. Maybe I should.

nah

With NIL, it's becoming increasingly difficult to continue funding sports that consistently lose money for the University. Football and basketball matter most, and it's going to take a more direct financial plan to continue to give out best players the revenue to keep them on campus.

And it was the absolute right move. We upgraded and can't wait to see what Miller does.

Yeah and you're going to see some schools, who can't really compete every year in football, start to prioritize other sports. Look at Texas Tech and what they are spending on the softball program.
They can have it. Football is what matters.

You'd better explain that clearly to your AD. I don't think they got your memo.

Baseball and basketball are gaining in popularity in the south and dont expect NIL to dampen its enthusiasm.

Sure football demands the lion share but ADs will be run off if the other big 3 arent shining.

UF's run of consecutive top 5 finishes is over. In danger of finishing outside the top 10 for the first time in history. The Stricklin standard.

I thought it was clear we were sharing opinions here. I have no input on what the AD spends money on. They'd be truly fricked if I did.
I just don't care about the other sports. I care about football and, to a lesser extent, baseball.
The Texas AD is going to do what they want to do and, evidently, what most of the fans want.
This trophy means a lot to the school. Just because I don't care doesn't mean others shouldn't. I'm just another jackass with an opinion.

That's impressive. How secure is Stricklin? I can't imagine the fans are happy with him right now.

This might be your opinion but it's crystal clear many if not most Texas fans care about other sports as well.

Florida has been the best AD in the SEC for years and if Texas goes your way Florida will continue

Doesn't make anything we are discussing any less relevant. We are still getting threads that completely overlook the hard cap that is here. No more unfettered bidding, no more collectives as we know them, just the cold, hard facts of reality: Spend your money wisely.
