Bad year for Okstate sports and another top 25 year.
Remember that when considering expanding for shitty east coast teams that don’t constantly throw money into their programs

Looks like they already removed the 43 points from Texas' W. Cross Country since Learfield counts 19 sports in total with 4 of those being mandatory [M/W Bball, Baseball & Volleyball] then adds the next 15 highest scores... for Texas they had 16 "other" sports record points, with W. Cross Country being the lowest among them.
I didn't even think about that, thanks buddy!

Nobody gives a shite about 90% of these sports.

After counting the 4 mandatory sports, Texas picked the best 15 of the remaining 16 sports to choose from. Stanford, however, chooses the best 15 of their remaining 28 sports to choose from. Must be nice hailing an elite sailing team I guess

Yes they do, but every school can do this. I want to hate on Stanford like everyone else, but they are competitive in all sports, not just underwater basket weaving. I mean frick California in general, but I respect Stanford's athletic department.

I mean, it's not like they're too pathetic in the big sports, either: they're going to Omaha for the third year in a row with a stacked team.
Stanford gets flak for having obscure sports, but they're generally very competitive in the main ones, too. I respect them as well.
But picking 15/28 as opposed to 15/16 is undoubtedly a huge advantage. Like enormous.

I agree. But no one is holding the other schools back from adding sports. Obviously it comes down to infrastructure and money, but it can be done. It's not easy either. During COVID Stanford tried to cut out a bunch of sports, but there was a huge backlash from alumni.

So, that guarantees Tenn and UF will pass GA, unless there are any other unaccounted for minor sports - right?

The difference is Stanford is a private school who's expenditures are largely based on donations/endowments by alumni funding everything about their school.
Public schools are taxpayer funded in large part. That means there is a very different process needed to fund a new sport. It's not just about donating alumni, but also justification to the politicians that ultimately control how taxpayer dollars are spent.
UGA would get crucified by politicians if they added a field hockey team, unless they could justify how it would ultimately benefit the University and the State in a measurable way.
