I have a feeling this could be an underrated match-up - especially if Gus gets to call his own plays.
Both use the hurry up - no huddle nonsense. In a way, Gus's classic offense is sort of the antithesis of Leach's. Gus's is run-heavy, Leach's is pass-heavy.

However, I believe both teams are rebuilding this season, so we could also end up with another 3-2 type situation. Hopefully Mississippi State can pull off the 3 this time.

They actually went against each other in 2013 in Gus's first game as Auburn's HC.

Connor Halliday had like 60 passing attempts and got picked off three times. Classic Leach.

Aubie better hope Gus calls plays.

Things won’t be pretty if Chad is.

It will be the same as it has always been. State will win once every 5 years or so.

You serious? A Leach coached game is far more likely to be 103-102 versus 3-2.

Leach in the SEC West will either confirm or totally destroy the SEC defensive reputation of “You can’t do that B12 stuff in this league.”

Last year Leach passed 78% of the time! The most pass heavy SEC W team was LSU who passed 54% of the time. Either way, I can’t wait. I love the guy, speaking of him, why in the world aren’t there 200 sound bites of this guy so far in the dead period? Get it together MSU! We need this.

Auburn has won exactly twice every 3 years. Sixty one of 93.

You are a smart pig fan.

“Win a championship” Gus is better than “lose every conference game” Chad.

Aubies have no choice but to bring the Gus bus back.

Maybe in the PAC12.

If MSU’s and Barn’s defenses are trash, maybe we will see a shootout instead of 3-2. I like our chances vs Gus in a shootout.

I heard that Gus may actually let Chad Morris call the plays. I don't see that lasting all season though. Gus likes that control I believe. He is also an offensive genius.

I like Leach and wish him well, but the Athletes he sees in the SEC every week compared to the Pac 12 will make his tenure a roller coaster. He will get an upset of a middle third team every now and then and do well against the bottom dwellers. But it will be status quo for MSU. The Press Conferences will be much more entertaining though.

I highly doubt it. Gus owned Dan Mullins at MSU. I don't think Leach is as good of a coach as Dan Mullins.

Auburn didn't know what they wanted to be on offense to start the 2008 season.

Gus loses to MSU about once every 3 seasons. Gus always has a lot more talent than MSU. That’s not “owning”, that’s getting upset pretty consistently.

I doubt our defense will be trash. We lost some big pieces, but we have depth.
