Don’t think he was giving LK credit for signing them. Obviously they were already committed. He was pointing out the talent pool in La is something he didn’t have at OM. And BK didn’t recruit very much while he was here. Didn’t do much at all now that the stories are coming out of what was going on inside the program.

I’ll give you credit you were right about Kelly

Now you’re on the floor praying the same thing will happen with Kiffin

Don’t blame you and you could turn out to be correct again

But us LSU fans are optimistic

What I do know is that LSU fans acted the exact same way and pretended like every little thing that happened was some huge important thing that was a sign of how great LSU was going to be.

The optimism after hiring Kelly is pretty much identical to what we're seeing now.

"Literally anyone can win a title at LSU! Now we got a real coach! The fear is real!"

Fired him in four years.

I'm sure Lane will do better than Kelly, or at least look better while having similar results. Everyone guaranteeing multiple championships may need pump the brakes a little bit, though.

You just described all but a handful of LSU posters around here. And those same posters aren't doing it now either.

This doesn’t pass sniff test.

1. All but a handful of posters hyped Brian Kelly as a coach this year?
2. But those same posters are not hyping Lane Kiffin
3. But everyone is hyping Lane Kiffin?

Relax dude. Kiffin is a great hire & a perfect fit at LSU. It’s okay to admit it, it won’t change anything.

DeBoer is also a great hire & you guys will eventually win the hardware if you stick with him. Don’t think this year is your year though, OSU is better than everyone by a significant margin.

Kiffin will need to be a different/better coach than he has been to meet LSU expectations. That's just the fact of the matter. If he can do it or not remains to be seen.

You guys were talking Brian Kelly up until a few weeks before he was fired.

Your coach’s first two seasons is very similar to Kelly’s.

Kelly-

10-4 & 10-3

DeBoer

9-4 & 9-5?

Just saying.

I figure it's mostly out of desperation and cope to avoid admitting in reality, you're basically a 3-4 loss team who can't admit the only good season they've had in the past 10+ years took a lot of stars to align.

I've never seen a fan base full of so much delusion in my life, and the only response I'll probably get from this is LSU fans talking about I must be melting.

So again, feels like Brian Kelly 2.0.

Meanwhile, the rest of this board is working overtime to convince each other this was a shitty hire and Kiffin will either leave LSU in the dust at the first chance, or be fired in two years.

Maybe some middle ground?

Yeah, that's what fans do.

I remember a lot of Bama fans hyping up DeBoer this same way. Muh Alabama talent plus a dude who got Washington to the natty.

He just went 11-1 at Ole Miss

You don’t think he could do the same or better at LSU?

If you get a schedule with only 2 ranked teams on it like Ole Miss did this year, it shouldn't be difficult.

Oh it's a great deal for Kiffin.

LSU is the stupid one here.

Your financial opinions have zero to do with my question

You said we should’ve kept Kelly

Is LSU a better spot to coach than OM?

I just said LSU was a better spot to coach than OM, that's why LSU is stupid to hire Kiffin.

You think Kiffin was at Ole Miss for 6 years because it was the job he always wanted? He was there because nobody better was dumb enough to hire him. For Ole Miss, it's worth the risk they don't have a lot to lose.

Now suddenly he has a decent year on an easy schedule where he goes 1-1 against the only ranked teams he's played and he's the next Saban.

Did he?

Second question. Do you consider Brian Kelly the same coaching talent as Lane Kiffin?

And spare me the records. The game changes. Kiffin has changed with it, Kelly couldn’t.

So how would you propose evaulating them? Which metrics should we use?

Most would say BK’s resume is significantly better.
