5 D1 schools just dropped their baseball teams this year. The Big 10 and increasingly the PAC-10 don’t field competitive teams or care much about the sport. There’s no competitive schools in the Northeast any more.
While the SEC plays great baseball, it’s just not a major NCAA sport (culturally or financially)

The PAC 12 had two teams make the CWS this year. Oregon State won the title just 3 years ago. USC has the number 1 recruit in the nation committed. The PAC 12 is way more relevant is baseball right now than football. Washington State and Utah are the only PAC 12 teams that aren't competitive year in and out. The Big 10 is not as competitive as a whole as they are in football or basketball, but Michigan just played for the title two years ago. In the Northeast BC is about as competitive in baseball as they are football. Add Army and Rutgers to that also. UConn is actually better in baseball than football. What Northeast schools are good in football?

Good thing you won baseball title or State wouldn’t even be on list.

You do realize that College Baseball is Top 3 in terms of revenue generated per championship?

Well, that was kind of the point of me making it. It was the first time I could.

You are wrong Basketball is actually 3rd and 3 major sports also follow the seasons.
Late summer to early winter Football
Early Fall to Late spring Basketball
Earlty Spring to late summer Baseball
1. American football
Of all the sports played in the United States, American football (simply called “football” in the U.S.) is by far the most popular. Though in recent years there’s been a bit of a decline in its popularity, it still remains the leading spectator sport. According to a recent Gallup Poll, 37% of Americans say that football is their favorite sport to watch. The most popular forms of football are professional football (the National Football League) and college football (the National Collegiate Athletic Association for Football).
2. Baseball
Known as “America’s pastime,” baseball is the second most popular sport in the United States and is the 7th most popular sport in the world.
3. Basketball
The third most popular sport in the U.S. is basketball, which is also one of the most popular sports in the world, with an estimated 825 million fans worldwide. The sport originated in the United States but is now played in countries on every continent (with the exception of Antarctica).

Not all schools should have a football team either. I’d like to see the list of football programs that operate at a loss yearly.

The average FBS program makes $1.5 million.
The average D1 basketball program makes $700k.
Baseball?
The NCAA estimates that less than 10 percent of baseball programs nationally turn a profit, said Ron Prettyman, managing director of championships and alliances who oversees baseball. The number is probably closer to 5 percent, Prettyman said.
National champion Moo St? 1.28 million LOSS.

Damn those numbers just prove how little most care about baseball.
Even Moo State doesn’t profit from baseball? That’s kindof shocking. I doubt they profit from basketball either

College baseball seems like it's getting less popular to be honest. Back in the day I remember teams like Nebraska, Cal State Fullerton and other small west coast schools in the CWS on the regular. All I see now is a few SEC schools, one or two Big 12, one or two ACC schools and one of the Arizona schools or UCLA.

Epically out of date article.
State was a far different program 5 years ago.

Are there any other conferences in the US that can claim that every single one of their members has a national title? I'm asking because I don't know, but I suspect that only the SEC can claim that honor.
