Why is this if Texas is the greatest football state all time

Because people beat each other up over here. Y'all been coasting in the SEC.

Texas has one natty in 50 years and 4 all time taking 67 years to win their first.

They were in the same conference as Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Johns Hopkins, North Carolina, Sewanee, Vanderbilt, Central (Eastern Kentucky), Clemson, Cumberland (who once lost to GT 222-0), Kentucky, LSU, Mercer, Mississippi A&M (Mississippi State), Southwestern Presbyterian University, Texas, Tulane, and the University of Nashville once. They never won that conference.

They were then in another conference with Southwestern University, Austin College, Texas Christian University, Texas A&M, Baylor University and Trinity University. They won that conference against that slate of blue bloods twice.

They were then in a conference with Giant Killers Arkansas, Baylor, TCU. Rice, Houston, SMU, ATM, and Texas Tech. Its a wonder they survived.

They have been in a conference for the last 27(?) years with the likes of K State, TCU, Texas Tech, Okie State, Baylor, Kansas, West Virgina, Iowa State and Oklahoma. They won that conference 4 times.

Oklahoma is the only recognizable good football team they have every played on a regular basis. They had fed on a steady diet of Mississippi State and Vanderbilt type programs there entire history.

In a great twist of irony - this thread is exposing why Nick Saban took a walk.

The playing field just got leveled.

This is why I say in 5 years A&M and Texas will just rise to the top of the SEC every season. Then you will start crying for divisions - so that one of us can beat the other one out.

Under the table transactions were less visible in rural places like the deep South and Oklahoma. Don't matter now.

Hold on to yesterday like a long lost friend. Because soon he will be.

Don't let those 4 B12 titles in 28 years go to your head shorthorn. You're starting to scare the big boys.

In the last 49 years Texas and Oklahoma Have won 3 Natty's Combined. UGA, LSU, and Florida have also each won 3 Natty's each during that period.

The state of Georgia has produced 4 CFB national titles in that same time period. Georgia Tech has as many as Texas in the last 50 years.

In an area smaller than Texas and Oklahoma and a population smaller than the 2 combined South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, Tennessee and Alabama have produced 42 national titles in CFB History. Texas and Oklahoma have combined for 11. All of the rest of the teams from their conferences over the years have won 5 more for a total of 16. The SEC schools from the states above have won 38. It just means more. The SEC and the original big 6 each individually have as many accolades as UT and Oklahoma and have been beating one another, 6 programs, for years. In the same time frame Texas and Oklahoma were beating one another with Nebraska tossed in for OU for a few years. It ain't close. It especially aint close when you consider the level of play historically across the SEC and any conference OU or UT have been in....

Is “Washington talent” supposed to be some kind of diss? They had two players drafted in the top 10 overall picks

By the same metric, Texas beat Saban in his backyard with Alabama talent, so…

well, to be fair, they have 1 FCS championship since that time (Sam Houston State),

So, 2 D1 football championships in 5 decades.
