It actually does not get more "blue blood" than being at the top of the social ladder based on history and perception while accomplishing next to nothing.

They are the very epitome of blue blood.

Oklahoma has won two national championships in the last 50 seasons. Texas has won one national championship in the last 55 seasons or so. USC has two in the last 48 seasons. Nebraska has won three in the last 54 seasons. Notre Dame has likewise won two national championships in the last 50 seasons. Alabama is the only blue blood that has won national championships at a consistent pace over the last 50 years.

Kinda random. Don’t you have teams closer to being your rival you can rant about

Exactly. You cannot just look at national championships. You have to look at wins and winning percentage as well.

Depends on how you define blue blood. If you define it as the power of the brand, then they remain a blue blood.

Also in their last title run, the administration loosened admission requirements for football players, which is something they could do in the future.

We have four titles in the last 50 years.

74 and 75 were in the last 50 years.

Also, before Saban the same thing could have been said about Bama.

Reggie Bush got paid for that lateral.......most unexplainable thing ever in a big game.....they were going to boat race them. That play chanced the entire game.

Please give it up. Notre Dame is elite and is a national powerhouse team with a nationwide following. They are a blue blood.
And that is okay.

So why isn’t LSU considered a Blue Blood? We practically dominated from 2001- 2011 does that not count as a period in time. Miami crushed it for about 10 years and they are considered a Blue Blood. Hmm

This is weird coming from an ole miss logo
If OP was actually an Ole Miss fan, he would be familiar with Ole Miss's win over Notre Dame in 1977, which was the Irish's only loss that year as they went on to be crowned champs.

And that Ole Miss team finished 5-6/6-5 that year, depending on how you want count the Egg Bowl from that year.

Yep that was the game that the Irish melted in the September Mississippi heat. And I mean completely wilted in the fourth quarter.

And State beat Ole Miss 18-14 in the Ole Miss-State game (as it was called in those days). Ole Miss jumped out to a 14-0 in the first quarter and the Ole Miss fans were calculating a 56-0 romp. But it was not be as State’s defense clamped down and the offense scored enough points to come back and win the game in the fourth quarter.

Their coach hightailed it for LSU simply because he thinks he can win a natty there.

How could Texas ever come back from an insurmountable 7-0 lead in the 2nd quarter in a game where the starting quarterback almost had 500 total yards alone???!?!?

Most SEC programs could have that kind of record playing Notre Dame's schedule.

I don't believe in Freeman, even though he has clearly out-recruited Brian Kelly. I believe you need to at least be in the playoff mix regularly to set yourself up as elite these days. Being Independent won't make this easier in the future.

Still more than their rival, A&M. That’s enough to make them happy.
